Re: The one that got away 1/9
My last few trips to Murray has produced only dinks and even micro bass so it is refreshing and sad at the same time to hear about the bass you lost. My recent bass catches were perfect size for a small backyard pond or some of the micro bass would do well in an aquarium, so it was refreshing to ...

Re: First of the year...
Nice one!
I have caught nothing but dinks and micro bass on 3 straight trips to Murray..but this was my first bass I caught on January 2nd of the New Year. I believe your bass could have eaten my fish and still be hungry....ha ha

Murray: Has not been exciting
Well, I have not posted for a while and saved you guys from reading long drawn out(blah, blah, blah)posts from recent trips
to Lake Murray. Heck, some of you probably enjoyed not seeing my mug, and have to admit if I was not me, I would be saying...oh,
here we go again with another long Vinny post ...

Re: You should have been here yesterday!
Don't think "you should have been here yesterday" applies when it comes to Lake Murray recently.
I go over to the lake often and I have spoken to lots of different anglers. Guys fishing from shore, to float tube to kayak guys and to guys in bass boats and it is just tough fishing there. Now you can ...

1/24-Wanted One More....
I was going to go to Murray for a few hours this morning to see if I could catch enough dinks to weigh them and see if the total weight could reach at least a pound and a half, but changed my mind. Instead I spent the morning at the SD river. Crank baits, spinnerbaits and under spins gave me some ...

Re: 1/24-Wanted One More....
Yeah, a lot better than the dinks I was catching at Murray so far this year. Heck I think my biggest fish there was about only about 1 3/4 lbs.Pourboy wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:41 pm Great job Vinny! Glad that you got on the boards for the year.

Re: 1/24-Wanted One More....
I am always thankful when I can get a bite or two in the colder water after flippin' all over the place and land a bass.Moose wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 2:25 pm You always seem to get a quality bass on your river outings. Nice work!
Luck does play a role also.

Re: Red House-SD Sports Arena 1969
Thanks for sharing this Vinny. Takes me waaay back… (I’ve heard this version of Red House before, but didn’t know it was in SD). Long-time blues fan here. Hendrix’s (studio) version is what got me hooked.
When I was a kid my older sister dated a guy who had to move out of his college dorm for ...

Re: Haven't done this in a while
It’s funny because as soon as I saw the photo, I knew it was Murray immediately. I just have not been fishing there lately or fishing much at all. I stop by the lake all the time to see how guys are doing and wish I was there to see that fish. That definitely must’ve made your day when you got that ...

Really enjoyed the pic!
What we have here is basically a Bass All-Star Team photo of some really great bass fishermen!
All I know is that the tough bass fishing you experienced today was not because of a lack of talent.Geez......I keep looking at the photo and the bass must of been lined up hiding ...

2/3-SD River.....Not good
Another day of avoiding Murray, I found myself down at the SD river this morning. The weather was cold, then got unusually warm, which I thought was not a good sign but at least I am out fishing.
I threw all types of reaction baits in all shapes and colors that I thought would attract a bite and ...

Re: San V 2/1 Guess I forgot how to fish
Sounds like a real tough one out there, but you gave them lots of opportunities to gobble up your baits.
I have no doubt that those bass will pay the price in the future when you are slaying them for being jerks over the weekend. Thanks for sharing and tight lines always!

Re: I know it's totally my fault...
Dan, I was lucky as ......well, you know what to even catch that micro bass at the river yesterday. In 2025, it has been a bad start
for me also as I have not caught a single bass that even got near tipping the scale at 2lbs. My only highlight was only one bass,
the 3.25 bass at the river in late ...
