6/28-SD River

Yesterday, I loaded my smaller kayak and headed over to Lake Murray in hopes of fishing only a few hours before the heat arrives. Aware that they were lowering the water level like they do every year for the 4th of July Fireworks show, I just assumed the ramp would still have a little water on it. I ...

Re: 6/28-SD River

Classic! Brush Craws, LOL.
Way to get out there and keep on getting a line wet!

Just because of those little craws, I ordered four packs of them from Tackle Warehouse thinking the bass are definitely going to see
the difference or am I just too gullible? ....:-)

Bass don't like these anymore ...

You slay the bass back there already and the brush craws would be almost like cheating.....ha ha

Re: 6/28-SD River

hey gullible I mean Vinny nice report. You better order 8 packs.

What is funny is that I already have probably well over 100 brush hogs from decades ago that have sat idle in my garage.
They used to be the go-to bait at El Cap, San V, Morena, etc....and just became another bait that somehow ...

Re: How many have found a lure and fished it???

Can't name how many baits I have found over the years of fishing but I could probably write a small novel about some of them
and how I found them. It seems that no matter what I have found and I have found some pretty cool baits, they never seem to
end up on the end of my line. I may clean them up ...

Re: Throwing worms at The Captains Footballs 6/30

Nice Job! I always think a longer worm is easier for a bass to see...especially the bass that are a little fatter and not as intimidated by the size of the worm.

Re: Hodges 6/3oWas outW

Fixing pics is pretty easy once you know where to tap. I’ve circled the upside down horseshoe (best description?). Tap just that and not on the img and your sideways pic will come up. Then you tap on the pic until it rotates to the correct position. Even I didn’t need Vinny to fix mine 😂

Re: Hodges 6/3oWas outW

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a good day.
You should upload your photos sideways and they will magically be corrected, via VinnyBass=)

I think maybe just have the guys turn theie laptops sideways is easiest for me!

Re: Fishing on the 4th

I looked on the City Lakes website and for El Cap, Hodges, Sutherland and Otay and all of them say this below as far as Holidays being open.

Re: Fishing on the 4th

Curious if anyone has experience fishing on the 4th. A few years ago I was surf fishing in the morning, off the water by 7AM, and there was a line of cars waiting to get into the parking lot and fighting over my space. Is it a zoo at our local reservoirs?

I think the last time I fished on the ...

Re: From rock bottom to the top

It had to be hot as heck out there as I was doing some yard work this morning and stopped early as the heat
was so bad I was worried it might have end my future bass fishing adventures forever......you are a stud Dannicus !
Glad to see you are out there having fun.
I posted something from one of ...

Re: Fishing on the 4th

Anyone know if the schedule for our lakes is just the usual this week? Only San V and Murray open Thursday like normal or are there additional lakes open/closed on account of the holiday?

Looking to get out for a few hours in the morning.

Thanks in advance!

7/8- Miramar fun and done!

Loaded my kayak up and hit Lake Miramar on Monday. It was overcast, the water was high and caught my first bass on top
which was a nice start. I started to catch bass on a topwater bait and in between a few bass that could not find my treble hooks.
Anyway everything was going well as I began to ...

Re: 7/8- Miramar fun and done!

Thanks guys for the kind words....and I usually almost never get sick so the last few days had been crazy. Not Covid, but constantly
in and out of a fever and not being able to eat for days. This evening I managed to get some soup down and feel a little bit better
today. Had fun fishing on Monday ...

Re: Playin hooky tomorrow/Friday @ Miramar - Who wants to go

Open backseat on SS Ranger. I asked Vinney in a PM, if he can't go, then the back seat is up for grabs. Cost? Just buy me a cheeze burger. :-)

Brian, thank you so much for the offer. I just wasn’t feeling completely up to it yet and hope you had a wonderful day catching lots of bass ...

Re: How not to fish Murray

The $ is the biggest bummer. Heard it’s free at night

I don’t even like to keep track of how much money I’ve spent just fishing Lake Murray. Being a senior, it used to be quite a deal and then they jacked us the other year. Just for example…..even in my kayak, it used to be four dollars for a ...

Re: How not to fish Murray

I haven’t fished Murray for a few weeks, but I know they are still eating a lot of shad so any type of jerk baits or reaction baits would probably be the number one thing to throw. Weeks ago, my bigger fish coming out of there were on brush, hogs, and double tail Yamamoto grub in a little deeper ...

Years ago the city ran the concessions and boat rentals, but that is not true anymore.
