4/15-Murray-Fishing deep session
Had some success in deeper water recently and especially on my last trip to Murray, so I decided to just fish deep and use reaction baits only. Despite the late start(looked like like rain this morning), I ventured out away from the shoreline even though it looked inviting. I searched for shad balls ...

Re: 4/15-Murray-Fishing deep session
I just threw that bigger spoon on because I was working deep water for close to three hours and I just figured I’d try it for a while because I had nothing to lose. I really jazzed and lucky when a bass slammed it. When I got another bass on that bigger spoon, I realized that there is another option ...

Re: The Cap is producing quality!
Sounds like you have a lot of fun out there at El Cap.
Those are some very healthy bass and that BFS gear does it again.
You have been rocking with that gear at every lake.
Thanks for sharing and tight lines always buddy.

Re: El Cap 4/15
First of all, glad you’re safe from that scary experience. That must have been pretty wild and thanks for the insight just in case it ever happens to one of us.
Other than that… sounds like you had a really fun time out there. Looks like you have a good spot where the bass are on the chew. That pic ...

Re: 4/15-Murray-Fishing deep session
Many years ago......near the buoy line at Murray there is some underwater structure that I am guessing a cable, old tree or anchor
rope or something that was a little ways north of a floating blue barrel used to be for decades. They removed the barrel the other
year, but anyway I used to catch ...

Re: Biggest Bass of the year so far!! Lake Hodges
Now that is what we're talking about......that is a nice bass!
Always fun to nail a fat one and your PB for 2024 so far. When you put it down to measure it you can really see how fat it was.
Nice job out there in the fog and great video as always.

Re: Show us your goldfish!
I was fishing for bass and working a senko with 8lb test and I caught this 25lb carp at Lake Poway years ago.
It was a heck of a fight.

Re: 4/21 afternoon sesh at Cap
Split shot is pretty snag free. Get either smooth ball or clam shots.
You can always peg an egg sinker if you’re worried about pinching the line. Bill Murphy had a great technique crimping the split shot on the tag end of your line then running it up and down the line to wear a smooth groove ...

4/24 Murray-Deep again
Decided to head over to Murray mid morning and was the only boat launch. A lot can change since my last fish report from there
9 days ago, but I decided to stick to fishing deeper waters(20'-35') again. "It is crazy!" McFish told me recently . "This is time of the
year the bass should be in ...

Re: 4/24 Murray-Deep again
They have a lot of action and on a few of them I took off the back treble hook and attached a blade to make
it even more visible in the water hoping it would look like a shad trying to get away.

No, I haven't but they do look pretty enticing to add to a few of my baits and probably better to have a second1Fishdude wrote: Thu Apr 25, 2024 11:30 am Vinny have you ever tried the VMC hybrid bladed treble hook?

Re: Cold, soggy...worth it!
Da***t now I gotta go buy 4” senkos 🤦🏼♂️
Not that I am a betting man all the time, but knowing McFish and his tricks using roboworms, It would be safe for me
to bet you that he bit the head off on many of those senkos to make them 3" or less.
Not that there is anything wrong with biting the ...

Re: San Diego river fishing
Nice job down there. I have caught a lot of nice fish over the years down at the SD River. I agree with you if you run into some of the homeless river residents, I just try to be nice and kid around and I’ve never had any problems, but it can be kind of edgy sometimes. Thanks for sharing and I ...
