Vantuna Research Group published their 2022 survey a few months back. You can read the 82-page report here. Now I Believe It - San Vicente Jun 12th

Last week after a year of forced hiatus, I finally got out fishing and had a good day. But it only gets better, because this week I got to share it with and old friend. Like last week, it was a short day of about 3 1/2 hours. I always feel pressure to catch some fish when someone goes with me, but t...

Re: So long San Diego bass fishing......sort of

Update as of 26 June 2023 - The pond has lots of large bluegills! After a couple of weeks of fishing the pond, there is an abundance of bluegills 8 to 10 inches. Also, with the water level slightly down (2 feet), there are fathead minnows, and the bass are still that 8 to 12 inches. I've started to ...

Re: First wild trout

Sounded like you had a good time up there. Surprised there's still so much snow pack, but we were at about 200% this year from the rains. you and me both. I was expecting to see some snow. But definitely did not expect to spend half the hike in it. At around 8000 ft elevation it was snow ...

Re: Mission Bay 7/2

Next time I would launch from fiesta Island or South shores. Less boat traffic. That's where I launched my canoe from over there. Better chance of catching fish too.

SD Bay July 1&2

My dad and I fished around SD Bay on Saturday and Sunday. The bite was good early on Saturday, but kind of died once the big tide swing started in the evening. I hooked into 2 batrays, one was about 20lbs, the other was somewhere near 100. I only hooked them on 12lb leader, so the ~100lber broke off...

Oooh damn I'm not one to question a mans fishing areas or style but why of all the days did you choose today to test out a new rig? I know the urge to fish but F the bay fishing, go to a lake first especially these next few days There are very few options for using an SUP on lakes in San Diego. SUP...

Calico Bass along the reefs

Very steady beach fishing in late June. Tallied 30+ calicos, 8 short white seabass to about 22", and 2 legal halibut - all gently released except the halibut. Saw some relative beginners get a legal halibut yesterday from the rocks throwing a swimbait. :D . . 20230609_195638.jpg 20230616_200953...

What it’s all about.

Some of you guys have known me and my family for a while. We ALL fish. Well, we’ve been teaching my youngest (Isabella) how to use a proper spinning setup for the last year. She’s 6yrs mind you. She’s now become sufficient enough to cast, reel on her own. Just the basic worm set up. Mostly just dire...

Haha, that was my post! I found it dead, floating near the mats along the shoreline. Here's an image for anyone who didn't see it on the original SDFish.
