11/06 Mission Beach
6:00 am till 8:00 am. Caught 7 Perch. The bite was crazy right From the start. Two of the fish Were caught as soon as the bait hit the water ,on the drop. It did not get that bad. It was kind of cool watching the tide come out that. I would walk out and cast as the water is receding and then I will ...

Re: 11/06 Mission Beach
Looks like fun out there. On a good bite you can throw Trout Spoons and Spinners at them. With that treble hook back there you hook mostly every bite. This can really add to your numbers plus the Hardware Perch seem to average a little bigger. Good choices are Roostertails, Small Kastmasters and ...

PB 11-7
Got out about 645
Heavy surf heavy salad
Incoming tide
Couple light taps early, waves were reaching the built up sand piles by 730. Due to load out I had to call it there. Moved over to the bay. Lots of literal garbage in the water.
Still enjoyed not touching a spreadsheet but 7'6" is definitely ...

Re: North County trips.
I fished Carlsbad near lifeguard tower 36 around high tide. There was one other angler there. He was using what looked like a camo sandworm. I didn't see him catch anything. I was using a 1" red with blue flake curly tail grub and caught one BSP. I had another pull the hook off because I neglected ...

Re: Mission Beach 11/10
Good to hear
Could you tell me what you are using for mussels? Fresh or frozen? Salted?
I have tried a few varieties of frozen , and they disintegrate into a"Mussel-Sludge"
If you have a specific brand/store I would lover to hear it
Thanks,
Doug

Re: Mission Beach 11/10
Great post with so much good info...Thanks J!
Mussel works often, not all the time, but is a great addition to your bait quiver...plus they are free! Just got a report from the South Bay with one angler using mussel getting seven corbina this week! I've always found that a variety of live and fresh ...

11-13 Mission Beach
6:30 to 8:30. Mission Beach had some good size Perch today. Caught 9. Those were the largest perch I have ever caught. Around 12 inches. No seaweed or grass. Water was clean. Pelicans were diving on schools of fish about 100 yards from shore.

Re: 11-13 Mission Beach
Oooh a walleye at MB don't see much of that. Looks like a great day and it looks like the incoming front and flat tide has them fired up!

Butch
Thank you. Did not know what a Wallie was. Had to look it up.
They taste pretty good too!! I feel like they're a bit more oily/buttery tasting than the barred surf perch. My profile pic is one because I just loved how the first one I caught at ...
