Went on Black Friday shopping for fishing gears. Ended up only two sinking jerkbait. Headed straight to MB to tried it out, first stop landed 4 SBB and than stop at last stop about to call it a day. Landed at 20.5" hali

Tide Swing Spotties 11-26
Thought a 7ft tide swing might have them on the chew and wasn’t disappointed. Got 11 feisty biters before the lack of water on our spots chilled the bite. Did move around some docks for 3 late ones but were off the water by 11. Small colorful curly tail plastics on underspins and a bronze Damiki ...

No spotties, but…
Fished H.I. this morning, mostly in the deeper channels. Spotties were a no-show, but between my friend and I we caught 3 sculpin, 1 hali, 1 sand bass (small), 5 mackerel. This was our first outing where not a single spottie was in the mix.

Mission Bay Spotties 12/12
Had a great morning in Mission Bay today. Caught and released 11 nice spotties.
Three inch paddletails on keel-weighted hooks slowly pulled through the grass on the bottom was the ticket today. I was fishing an ultralight rig with 4 pound test, and had to make sure my drag was set well because all ...

Big Bay 12-17
Thought we’d try the opposite tide swing from last trip, low to high. Unfortunately couldn’t find a steady bite in the usual spots. Decided to mix things up and yoyo a blade bait, different from the heavier leadheads and paddle tail plastics I usually fish deep. Started getting spotty bites in the ...

Osprey got my fishing pole
Was fishing in the south bay on Jan 1 and boated a spottie and landed him on my deck. Looked up and saw a sea gull headed our way. The hook was a little further down than normal, so set my pole down to grab some pliers. Well, it was no sea gull. An osprey swooped down and grabbed the spottie from ...

Feel for the Winter,
]But dont have a cold heart.
Took a break from lmb and tried a couple bay trips.
Sometimes fishing sucks, sometimes it doesn't. Recently got into a wfo spotty bite and hammered it for 3 hours. Never went more than a couple minutes without a bendo. Pretty much got bit every other cast on the yo ...

Son’s First Halibut in Mission Bay 1/13
Rented a skiff to bond with my son. Didn’t have hi expectations especially since we are beginners. Was about to call it a day and he snagged a legal halibut on live sardine. He was so pumped and now is addicted.

Re: SD Bay 1/20
While Surf Fishing last month I had those damn Mullet chase an Roostertail Spinner all the way to my Rod tip. The water was plenty clear. Sometimes the whole school turned and followed it. None ate it. I do well in Newport Bay on tiny bits of Shrimp on an #14 black Salmon Egg Hook under a Bobber ...

Re: Halibut Bite SD Bay
Nice video. No mediocre music in the background and good tips.
Replace the weight with a 1/4 ounce jig head and a curly tail or paddle tail grub and you get spotties in between the halibut, plus halibut will bite the grub too. And you can foul hook more rays if you are into that.
White seems to ...

After the previous storm I was in the back bay, saw 4 or 5 tumbleweeds cruising by. That was a funny sight.

Be careful at speed in Big Bay!! Tons of debris
Most of its the nuisance size trash but I did see boards and such that would do damage to your hill and motor. That trash could stop water intake too. I had to lift up my motor to free a stick and other things several times. I heard MB was bad too.
