Walked down to a favorite beach spot to fish a weighted weedless swimbait (shown) along the sand/rock shoreline here, with much smaller surf today.

I have missed fishing the local beaches lately, so I made a quick trip to Seal Beach with a few blood worms... There was a lot of eel grass to contend with, but did manage a decent corbina and calico... A small corb and two dink sand bass... Nothing huge but a fun day... And I managed to get that ...

I found 4 nice soft shells this morning and converted all 4 to corbina.

It is amazing how the corbina at my local beaches can tell the difference between hard and soft shell crabs. I use straight 8lb mono, so they don't seem to be line shy. My fishing buddies and I joke that they are "crab snobs ...

Conditions were pretty nice so went for an afternoon session on Sunday. Salad was minimal so I tried soft plastics and luckycraft but there were no takers. Switched bait fishing with shrimp and got a short sand bass, a perch and bunch of leopard sharks.

Did a gray light minus tide session 10 days ago straight out from PB Drive. On Labor Day sunset, I caught a legal barracuda from the surf, 28 inches, on a t-rigged white fluke in the La Jolla area.
