I fished the surf south of Crystal pier about 8:30-10:00 this morning. Sand crabs are plentiful under the pier, with roe and some soft shells. Grass was minimal. Water felt colder. 6:30 to 8:30. Mission Beach had some good size Perch today. Caught 9. Those were the largest perch I have ever caught. Around 12 inches. No seaweed or grass. Water was clean. Pelicans were diving on schools of fish about 100 yards from shore.

Quality perch... Love the wallies...

They taste pretty good too!! I feel like they're a bit more oily/buttery tasting than the barred surf perch. My profile pic is one because I just loved how the first one I caught at MB ...
