Torrey pines is actually 3 miles away. You can also park at La Jolla farms and take a paved road down. It's still a little steep but you won't be taking steps up. Unfortunately it's a 2-hour time limit at top so it's really not worth it.

I just fish when I can... I'll look at the tide tables, but rarely does it affect if I'm going or not... Maybe which beach though...

This, meet up with a great group of Surf Fishermen in Sunset Beach. I just show up for Coffee and gab but the fishing can get good too.

The fishing sucked. It was windy and the water felt cold. I only saw one spotfin and he was in the air.

Fished north Mission Beach from 6:00-8:30, slightly after the peak high tide as it receded. It was fairly windy when I stepped out of my car but there was no turning back!

It wasn’t too bad by the ocean so must’ve been more of a tunneling effect between buildings that made it feel worse. Certainly ...
