So I butterflied out a dorado to cook for my family's early labor day party. It's not a true zarrandeado since I didn't do it over hot coals but 45 min on the smoker and a few on the grill for some color does the trick.

Hit the surf 7 am. Threw LC almost the entire time. 3 solid bumps 2 hookup’s that resulted in spool (almost I had to palm the spool so I don’t lose my braid) left at 10 30. Lots of sand crabs but they were very small.

Very steady beach fishing in late June. Tallied 30+ calicos, 8 short white seabass to about 22", and 2 legal halibut - all gently released except the halibut. Saw some relative beginners get a legal halibut yesterday from the rocks throwing a swimbait. :D

Hit the Valley for an even 43 last week on Friday. Mostly cats and carp with a bass or two thrown in. No idea if I can post pix or a link, some footage is up on my YouTube channel. Put the carp in my garden after peeling some meat for flathead bait.

Hows the temperature out there? How about the water flow with all the recent rain?

Looks like flows have evened out. Carp spawn seems SUPER late this year, it was still ongoing the other day somehow? Bass were busting up top, so it looks like they were done first? Hard to say. Temps out there were beautiful.
