IVOS this week..
Think I ended with 24. Footage up and more coming on the socials FWIW. Not really here, find me elsewhere. Yeah, I get it, not many even care about the place. Not sure what the rules with links even are. Be well all.

San Felipe 4/2023
Don't know if I missed it or if this is new. But a Baja forum is cool, so guess I'll post a report of my recent trip to San Felipe on the northern tip of the Gulf of CA. Went for a family trip where family was the emphasis, I was able to sneak away for at least one high tide each day, but was restri...

PARIS
Well, not Paris, but Perris! Backseated Perris Lake 1/2 last Fri, just north of Skinner, cold and calm, then cold and windy. First time in over a decade. Prayed we'd pass inspection, figured it'd be a miracle, as we drove out of SD in the rain!!!! Answered prayer, the new lady never felt into the bo...

Re: Cut Braid?
If the captain tied it, it should be fine. If your nervous he tied it in a rush or don't trust the knot for some reason, bring it into a shop. If it is hollowcore braid, you can have it properly spliced. If it's not they'll check the knot and can retie it. What I would do depends on how deep the kno...

San Veeeeee 5/14
Rented a boat at San V today and a fellow SDFisher joined me for the morning. Some froggy looking water but no bites on either the frog or the buzzbait. Water is pea green soup from the grass scum - not just the surface, it’s throughout the water column in places. Plastics were the goods again. Noth...

Halibut
Really solid Halibut fishing in the bay the last couple of weeks from skiffs, kayak, and shore. Using sardines, smelt, and double rig with underspin and white gulp swimbaits.

Crappie Time of Year
I Resized_20230514_064202.jpg t's been tough trying to catch those elusive Crappie this Spring. With the inconsistent weather and all of the lakes filling up its been a battle. Plus Mother Nature has been know to put the best laid plans of a fisherman to sleep. So I made the 9 hr trek up North to Cl...

San Vicente Lake Record Redear 4.2 lbs Released
I got super lucky this afternoon at San V. After catching a bunch of bass on dropshots, I decided to target a few panfish laate in the day based on my meter readings and WHAMO, blessed with a tanker panfish, a 4.2 lb. redear. She was caught on 2 lb line and a piece of nightcrawler, 18 feet deep on a...

Fiesta Island
Been fishing fiesta island on the way home from work the past month for the magic hour around sunset and and catching a few bass on lucky crafts every outing while trying to dodge the weeds, and while not many, I get 3-4 every night with most of them are nice ones in the 12-15 range(the top one was ...

Re: San Vicente Lake Record Redear 4.2 lbs Released
Congratulations. You are a serious angler and deserve it. I'm honored, as you are truly the panfish master! Your experience, knowledge and information sharing over the years is inspirational to many in the panfish community. I hope that we'll all be surprised at the size of fish caught this year, a...

5/19-You know where I went....
Yes, after a fun fishing outing on Tuesday with my buddy Joe, I just had to go back to Murray and check it out. A pretty good start as I caught a bass on my third cast with a fluke. Pretty quickly after that I landed another bass on a fluke. Just a little less than 15 minutes later I was fan casting...

Re: Cut Braid?
Replace. All be damned if I’m going to risk a weak spot on a $300-$1000 dollar trip, much less the fish of a lifetime. U
Keep the remaining line and spool it on a smaller reel or use it for backing on a spinning or fly reel.

Re: How to get impressive catch pics
I think Vinny owns stock in that business! You could hire me(I work for Tokyo rigs..ha ha) to take pics for you like the avatar shot I took or buy or make your own selfie stick. Since you do fish a lot out of your float tube I know you hold your arm out with the camera and take the pics. I always t...

Fat Bluegill, San Vicente ... again? May 21
It's officially a pattern at this point! :D Really fun panfishing again today and upped gear to 6 lb. braid with 6 lb. leader, found the fish in the same areas. Targeting around 15 to 18 feet deep on nightcrawlers at the outer edge of the brushlines, similar to Friday's catch but added a fat 2.2 lb ...

Rocky Shorelines - Calico Bass May 22
Walked down to a favorite beach spot to fish a weighted weedless swimbait (shown) along the sand/rock shoreline here, with much smaller surf today. The recent south swells have migrated tons of sand north on my beach, and have unburied the local acres of eel grass - which is all dead and drifting no...

The water is starting to warm up ;) @vdisney would be nice to see some of your famous surf fishing shark reports This was last Sunday, first time in three years I chased the 'toothy critters' https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/i119/vdisney/_1.jpg?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds
