My facial expression was so bad so I had to hide it, lmao! Here's pics from Sunday's session.

Dave and I hit the Bay yesterday from 6am - 11:30am. Fishing in the slack and some of the incoming tide.

I get out here about 3 or 4 times a year. The only goal was to catch as many species as we could.

I decided I wanted to get into fishing to have something to do with my kids. Went out alone for the first time just to test the waters. Thanks to the tips on the site, I got 3 spotties in 3 hours and quit when something strong snapped my leader.

I took my dog to fiesta Island for a couple of hours. Caught 5 croaker throwing small grubs.

There isnt one single square inch in Mission bay or SD bay that someone hasn’t tried to kick me out of:

too close to the military
too close to my boat
too close to my company
too close to private property
too close to the nature reserve
can’t be in the shipping lanes

Fished the afternoon outgoing tide from ~1pm-4pm.
Tried to film but forgot how after a month of no fishing

Plenty of sculpin next to the midway. Dropper loop rig with market shrimp on size 4 hooks works great. Lots of small ones, but definitely enough keepers to make it worth an afternoon. Don’t cast far—they’re right by your feet.
