Another Personal Best 04/03/24

Welp. the weather finally stared to get warm up here in Wyoming. A lot of the ice has begun to melt on the Flaming Gorge, and all the ice is gone in the lower half of the reservoir. The last couple of months has been pretty slow, and I have been skunked throughout most of February and March. So when ...

Re: Things are coming along - Kentucky

Beautiful! In Texas we called those ponds "tanks". Fished a few of them as a kid!
What's the humidity like? I hope better than Texas!

Set up a Bluegill Derby for the local Elementary School. Make it a Catch and Cook. That will thin out the ‘Gills and provide a Community Service. Win win.

Sweets again 5/6

When back again same pattern. Fishing was very slow. Started off by catching a carp yay!
Carp for me is usually some bad luck so I moved to a different spot as far away as I could get from any visible carp action.

Still very slow as far as the bass action was concerned but the patience paid off and ...

Re: Lake Hodges Re-Opener

Great video and catching! Hodges was my late 80’s, 90’s go-to lake and even though its a fraction of its former self, you brought back memories of the hot morning bites with cranks and blades parallel to the banks, and seemingly a better grade of fish. Oh and just when I too was wondering where the ...

Re: Lake Hodges Re-Opener

Glad to bring back good memories. I had so many people ask me about the beer of the day it was crazy. I had to add that at the end. Cheers!

Looks like you guys are having lots of fun from the pics (I straightened them again....the invoice will be under your welcome mat when you get home...ha ha ). Thanks for sharing with us folks on how the fishing is back at Pelican Lake. I can now see why it is always on your agenda to to back to ...

Wiper Fishing

Tried my luck today for some wipers. Ended up catching 3 in a couple of hours of fishing. I had a night crawler on at the beginning that got smashed, thought it was huge catfish but ended up being a 30 inch carp. Ended up catching a lot more carp on the night crawler, but didn't catch any on the ...

Hodges Rewards me

Was on the lake heading to the Del Dios arm by 5;30 am . Didnt have much action picked up a couple clone fish but nothing to write home about. I threw shad raps, micro jigs, spinner baits and sencos > everyone i talked too was saying it had slowed down. About 9;30 I put on a finesse football jig on ...

Re: Wild ride at San V today

And I thought I was the only one whose boat got slammed by a wake at San V.
On a Monday earlier this year I was fishing around the island, down the bank from McFish and everything was calm. Then one of those big Ranger boats was flying down the channel and I could see this huge wake coming and ...
