Bite at Murray was slower this morning but still there. The larger bass are stuffed to the gills with shad.
Plenty of aggressive dinks in the tules early in the AM.

Re: 10/17. That lake again
Man you are the ADHD fisherman…never the same lure in two different pictures 😂😉
PS I’m starting to think Murray hired you to drum up business 🤔
I like to try different things even if one is working well. I never put any time in swimbaits so I tossed that bluegill bait for a while and got a ...

Not what I planned....but that works!
After hearing rave reviews about the topwater bite yesterday, I had high expectations for epic topwater today.. but today turned out very different! I woke up to clear skies, a full moon, and the back side of a cold front...should of been here yesterday was what I was thinking! It became obvious ...

San V 10/18 & 10/19
After some debate I headed to San V on Friday for the first time since Easter. I was shocked to see how far the water has come down since then. The waterfall in the back of Barona is high and dry by 30ft!
Immediately saw bass crashing the shad against the banks so I had high hopes for some top ...

Re: 10/17. That lake again
I have a theory that on a full moon the fish feed all night and take it easy in the morning and then fire up in the afternoon and evening. Then on a new moon you get an awesome morning bite because there's no shadows for them to feed at night with.

Re: 10/17. That lake again
I always though that the fish feed all night on a full moon also and you may get some really early, but I never arrive too
early anymore in the morning. I fish after a full moon or a new moon and not sure half the time if it affects the fishing,
but if it does, of course I blame the moon..ha ha ...

10/20 High Hopes
Sunday after I was skunked at San Vee the day before I went to the fabled Murray Lake. Hoping there I could get the stink of skunk off by catching some of these dink busters. I got there and launched about 7 and went immediately to the center of lake . I noticed immediately that there were very few ...

Re: 10/20 High Hopes
There is always very few anglers at Lake Murray
no matter what the bite is. And there was hardly any busters at all last Thursday morning until surprisingly after 11:30 and almost no busters on Friday when Mcfish was there. Murray can be a mystery at times. Anyway, I tend to agree with Moose that ...

I'm so full of hope and dread I may have to stop fishing.
A few years ago COVID hit and I closed my business, sold my large 4 bedroom home, and decided to live out my retirement years free and easy in an RV. Since then I have fished an average of 4 days per week until...

Re: I'm so full of hope and dread I may have to stop fishing.
Hi Dan,
The struggle is real. I too go through a horrible withdrawal at the end of September when they close Barrett for the season. I am told there are other bodies of water that hold the very same fish as Barrett, just with a different level of cooperation. Through the support of friends, I have ...

10/25-Not Lake Murray
I decided for a change of pace rather than going to Murray, I would hit the SD River. It has been over a month since the last time I was there. Arrived around 7:30 and this time the water had a green film on top of it. The river always smells a little but I was there to fish and besides not going to ...

Re: 10/25-Not Lake Murray
Most bass guys on here seem to be strictly fresh or strictly saltwater anglers with a few exceptions (Fishtricks, Pourboy). Have you ever considered mixing it up down in the bay? Also, did you finally lose your Ranger hat?
I used to fish saltwater a lot years ago, but just have stuck to ...

Re: 10/25-Not Lake Murray
I knew it! LMB fishing in our local waters is certainly more challenging than bay fishing on most days. I appreciate those that have the patience and knowledge to reap the rewards. Spotties do have sharper teeth though!

I mainlined me some nature 10/24-25
I fed my addiction Thursday and Friday at Murray. Thursday was a bit slower as I spent the day trying to re-establish a pattern. Ended up with a couple of about 3 lb. clones.
Friday started off great with 3 nice popper fish - casting toward the boat dock, then soon devolved into a dink-fest. I ...

Fatties at Otay 10/30
Only 5 fish on the day but all of them were fat and healthy. The biggest weighed 6.1 so took over the 5.6 Murray fish of last month for my second biggest of the year. The bass were actually busting down by the buoy line and I threw a bunch of TW baits at them but no takers. So I switched to a jig ...
