I have done a bunch of Lake Murray reports recently and they are all starting to sound the same and repetitious even to me. And if they seem that way to me, they surely have become boring to others.

When I reordered a Tsurinoya Flicker 70 from Aliexpress (see my previous post about a new lure) it was so cheap I decided to pick up a couple of other lures as well including its little brother which came in at 50mm, (under 2 inches) and 3 grams.

My BFS reels are spooled with only 50-70 yards of line to help with casting distances. I could almost see the spool a couple of times during the fight lol

With how long that fish looks and the size of its fins…it’s definitely waiting for a trout stock to add another 3lbs or so…

For any of you who have fished some of the tournament circuits around here you probably know Jim Sleight. I guess he passed away sometime in the last couple of days. Just thought I’d let you know. Always liked Jim, he was a solid guy. RIP and prayers to his family.

Jim worked really hard to put together the tournaments he ran. No one will fill his shoes. Good dude.

I imagine you are always having fun when you are catching bass even clones around 2 lbs or even smaller
each trip because of the excitement of the water exploding on those small topwater baits. And then
a real blast when out of the blue a healthy bass beats ...

Been a minute since I had anything worth sharing. I’ve been hitting El Cap for the last few weeks and been killing the 6-10” bass! Shallow, 10-15ft, breaking fish, didn’t matter, almost everything I caught was still in diapers.

Back at the Cap yesterday. Day started off on the wrong foot with a dead cranking battery. Ran back home and after an hour or so on the charger, headed back to see if I could salvage the day.

Tough sledding all day long but I was also trying to force feed them the swim jig and a crankbait. Got one ...

Yeah, got 25 that size there on Fri., in a half days work. Some 1 pounders but a couple even smaller. Blind casting a small popper, the Bevy by Lucky Craft, thanks to Dannicus giving me one at ...

Then again, I got 15 the week before, after four hours of Nada working clear water at San V., working the mud lines. Chatter baits And jerk Baits.

In my last report, I made a promise not to post anything from Lake Murray for 2 weeks. I figured people are tired of seeing my reports about the darn good fishing it has been and mostly tired of seeing my mug..ha ha

Well Hell! I was all ready to declare Murray it was and then Spektrum threw a wrench into things!

Thanks for the update. I went there Sunday with similar results. A number of fish all battling for the title of the smallest bass of the year. Nothing over 10”.

I gave you guys a nice 14 day vacation from me posting reports from Lake Murray, but sorry, it's time to post again. I will try to keep it brief(ha ha... Mcfish knows that is not going to happen).
Hit Murray late morning and pulled in a small bass on a reaction bait waiting for any surface action ...

I know people get tired of seeing my Murray posts, so I gave everyone a much needed 2 week hiatus.
Anyway....all in the name of having fun and bass fishing. I'm back..

I think the San V fish are going to be a little bigger than what Murray is putting out now! San V also has a dropshot bite you can fall back on.

That bass looks like it’s feeding to hibernate for the winter!

I think I was one of those guys. We had a few winners on the old sdfish.
