Re: Lake Poway?
Don’t forget, Long was a salesman too. He had special privileges at many lakes. He fished Jennings on days the lake was closed. He had access to the gate, launch-the whole lake to himself. That lake is an aquarium. If anyone has spent anytime there, you’ve seen monsters swimming around in that lake ...

Re: New to bass fishing
My intel is telling me the bass are eating lots of shad so my suggestion is you throw some topwater baits or jerk baits or any other type of reaction baits. When bass are going through a frenzy eating shad that would be your best bet.

How to remove a hook from a gut hooked bass
Every few years we get a few new fishermen on here that could use this knowledge.
Half of the patterns we use to catch Bass involve the bait getting swallowed. A hook is caught in the gut of the bass, making it hard to remove. If you just pull it straight out you’re killing the fish. There’s a ...

Well, you probably already guessed.... as it is no surprise that I fished Lake Murray this morning. It is just so close to my house and
heck...why not! Started pretty slow as I searched all over for balls of shad in deeper water in between tossing topwater baits towards
some breakers but no hook ...

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH
The original story can be for under Barrett fishing report. Title "reaper boy strikes again". It's true the original story said they took no measurements, but I'm here to say that fish was over 10lb.

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH
Is Barrett still Northern bass only? 12lbs is really large for those! The body shape seems more like an 8 or maybe 9. They sometimes seem to grow once out of the water...😁
It is said that when Morena has spilled in the past (long ago past now), that fish, (including stocked trout) went over the ...

I'm Baaaaack! D&K 8/9
After having been under the weather for almost 2 weeks (and still not feeling 100%) I finally got back on the water yesterday for a morning session.
I tried topwater for the first 45 minutes with no joy, then the middle column stuff, but all the biters seemed stuck on the bottom.
I ended the ...

Yes, the ramp was good on Wednesday and I actually fished out of my boat on my last two trips there and it was fine.

Re: Murray shore fishing
Sorry I don’t know how to get a link so you could check it out.
It’s very light folds up but I’m a smaller person 5’5 and 160lbs so it works for me but if you’re 6’ it might not work, if I figure out how get the link I’ll let you know.
Amazon of course- listed as. AOUTACC ULTRALIGHT STOOL

Miramar Evening bite
If you can get out there early evening, its well worth the trip. Fish are snappin purdy gud. Breakers and overall a decent reaction bite once you find the fish. Was out there on Monday and it was fun for a 3 hr. after work session.

Re: Miramar Evening bite
That topwater bite is fun. I pre-fished a local SD lake with a buddy of mine on Saturday, and had something happen to us that hasn't happened ever.
We picked up one rod, at 5:30 am, and never put it down. We left the lake at 12 pm and had all the other rods we brought still in their rod socks ...

8/14-Miramar Morning
Decided to head up to Miramar again since the last time I was there July 24. A little foggy in the morning but was able to throw on
some random busters here and there. They seemed to be more focused on the small baitfish they were chasing. It was a little frustrating having a few roll over or ...

Re: 8/14-Miramar Morning
That blade thing looks sweet! Just found one my self, and I will try it out there in a few days perhaps. Mirmar is my home lake now that Hodges is closed. Are you fishing it on the bottom?
It is funny as I did not throw any blades for a long while. Not last year, because Miramar was closed to ...

Re: 8/14-Miramar Morning
Are you using a fish finder while fishing the blade bait? Or throwing near the busters or just fishing out a lil bit deeper off the tules?
A little of both as I look for shad or bait balls with the finder and throw long casts beyond them and let the bait fall deep.
When bass go aftershad or ...

Topwater at Murray 8/15
Decent topwater bite early this morning at the Murr. It was overcast for the first hour and they were busting everywhere! I managed 7 early then the sun burned off the fog and everything basically stopped. Caught 4 more out deeper after the sun then moved toward shore.
I am a bit disappointed ...
