Loveland ! ( video) Bass!
No, the major draw down a few years back didn't kill all the bass. A few weeks back, I had an incredible day but didn't have my gear with me to record it. So we headed back today and it was slower but still managed a few. Lake is as full as I have ever seen and still rising. Great place to take the ...

D&K 6/23
Met a gentleman named Mike at the lake who told me that he actually enjoys my posts here on the forum so this one's for you brother.
I arrived Mcfish 's lake when it opened and got on the water just in time for some excellent topwater action. I caught 5 quality bass in the first hour and a half on ...

Re: D&K 6/23
Hi, this is what I got. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Jewel_B ... BHDLR.html
It has paid for itself. Actually on the first lure retrieved since crankbaits have gotten so expensive.

Re: Loveland ! ( video) Bass!
It’s all good. Honestly the wading and go pro was a joke. I’d be lying if I didn’t swim more than once for something in that lake. The release was rough.
Take it easy killing time, all I had to “know” you by was your response to this post. “Agreeing” with that “toss” wasn’t funny in the context of ...

Catching up
Been a minute since I posted! Band stuff has kept me busy lately but I have still been out fishing my normal places - Cap and Otay are where I’ve spent the most time but also got a Hodges trip in.
Otay has been business as usual for my brother and I. Flyline plastics along the tile line and for me ...

Re: Loveland ! ( video) Bass!
Ok guys...here is the deal. You right, Even though it looks worse than it was, I should have taken the time to release the fish better than the way I tossed it back and take responsibility for that. I have been bass fishing for many years and have nothing but respect for the resource.honestly, I ...

Re: Catching up
Band stuff? I essentially retired from my last band (classic rock/drums) because I’d rather go fishing 😂 Thanks as always for the 411. Man that lost fish had to hurt but you do know where she and her brothers and sisters live. I love having just the right amount of water into the tules to get a ...

Re: D&K 6/23
Any type or brand you guys recommend?
The good ole Hound dog. Early release nailed it. If I’m not wrong, he saw mine in action and had to buy one. Just Friday I used it twice…once on a hung up worm. A first as I usually only pull it out for crankbaits but it was handy.
I think you may have ...

Re: Loveland ! ( video) Bass!
I had to find two more strikes and the go pro and wading was a joke. Internet humor rarely comes across correctly obviously… although I was bothered by what I saw. I only said something because that’s my home lake I’ve been fishing it for over 35 years and my uncle used to be the dam keeper there ...

Re: D&K 6/23
I have the BPS one, I tig welled some bigger hoops on it when I was religiously throwing big swim baits. It has definitely saved me well over $2000. The hound dog is almost the same. I welded bigger chain with big j hooks and attached it to Tuna cord to it. I’ve had to go to the bank to get leverage ...

Re: Catching up
Wow...hitting all the lakes and pulling in bass. Very nice!
My Googan Kracken' craws and Strike King Rage craws look like little wimps compared to that husky craw bait you are throwing.
Looks like it gets lots of action and you always find some new cool baits that the bass like to gobble up. Thanks ...

Re: Loveland ! ( video) Bass!
Camo, your uncle used to chase me and my buddy down there all the time in the 70s. We used to walk down bitch hill from his house on the jamul side. Loveland is where I learned to fish. I also became friends with the sheriff who flew the Astoria chopper. Small world.

Re: Loveland ! ( video) Bass!
Correct, If you are having difficulties getting a hook out of your fish or taking a long time on photos......... Please Dip you fish back into the water every 30 seconds or so to keep them wet!!!
I have to say that no matter how far BassHound chucked his fish, he still treated them better that the ...

Re: Loveland ! ( video) Bass!
Finally, a bitch hill reference!!! After years of starting in the legal cove then poaching the back, a high school buddy says “let’s go to Loveland. Heck yeah! So we’re driving into Jamul and I’m like WTF are you going?! The lake is in alpine?!?! We parked and walked down that bitch!! I out fished ...

poppers and crankbaits and jigs oh my! 6/25
I fished lake Murray this morning, and the water was so low that it was almost at the end of the boat ramp. On the plus side, I had the place almost all to myself (except for a few shore guys that arrived mid-morning).
There were a lot of bass busting early, but I couldn't get them to take my top ...

Glad “they” did not melt… because it would be a long painful walk back to your truck with your float tube. Yeah, the water is really going down pretty quick and thank goodness you have a tube so you can still get out there and continue to catch bass.

Clearly! One of the dangers they studiously forgot to warn us all about before we embarked on this journey.Early release wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 5:52 pm Clearly that's one of the unforeseen risks of fishing....
