Fish report May 5, 2025
Our Foundation, San Diego Anglers Foundation, brought Wounded Warriors to Barrett today and it was wide open. We fished from 7 am to 2:30. Every boat caught between 75 to 144 fish. Lots of these guys had never caught a bass before and they left the lake feeling like experts. It was a heavy overcast ...

Re: Fish report May 5, 2025
They all said it was the best fishing day of their lives.
The 2 gals that were there had to quit early because their arms and wrists were too sore from setting the hooks on the senkos. They got dropped off at the boat dock and waited in their cars for the armada to return at 3pm.(Bass Pro Shops ...

Barrett Lake May 7th report
Hi all,
Barrett is open for 2025 and it looks to be a promising season. Got on the water around 0500 and pedaled across the lake. Air temp was a chilly 50F, but the water was 62.5 F. First fish for me came 0517, Chuck had already gotten several by then on a jig. I was using a texas rig lizard and ...

Opener
I was at the gate at 3:30 and was in line outside the gate. I was at the water ready to launch and decided to make some casts. 10 fish before I left on the tube. I was there from open to close caught a lot, lost a lot (need to find what hook is best for elaztech baits). There were the blue gill and ...

Top water Opener
Jose let us in @4:30, line went all the way to the road outside. Mad rush to the water but everyone was friendly. Started with a couple on jig and swim bait, then it was top water ALL day. The popper when it was nice and calm, buzz bait through the grass area, crawler and frog got them too. No ...

Re: Opener
That 1st pic is awesome.
Elaztech baits and I have a love hate relationship.
My Pros; They last for so long and have good buoyancy when you want a slower rate of fall.
My Cons; Hard to rig, and they don't play nice with other plastics and silicone. So you have to keep them away for all your ...

Mother’s Day report (sorry mom)
It was a great to return to Barrett Sunday and probably better than mimosas. Theo and I got on the water at 6:30. It was the maiden voyage for Bassquatch -- our new two person fishing solution (a 10' pond prowler) which worked light years better than sticking Theo on the front of my tube ...

Re: Mother’s Day report (sorry mom)
Great, detailed report! Reaper Boy may have to change his name to Ned lol. We learned last spring not to depend too much on the chase baits and have done much better on the deeper plastics. There will be plenty of time for the chasers later. Can’t wait to see Bassquatch too. Solid upgrade for you ...

Yes the scale comes in handy and makes for less fishy fish storiesDfishin wrote: Mon May 12, 2025 2:17 pm Congrats on a great day. It's nice you picked up a rig to fish out of, but really happy you picked up a scale!

Sunday May 11 report
It finally happened for me, I had one of the absolutely epic days that Barrett is known for. Started going last year and had some solid days but this was on a totally different level. Pretty much non-stop bites all day. Don’t know what my total count was but it had to have been pushing 100. All day ...

Barrett Lake May 14th report
Hi all,
Got started in the darkness at Barrett, which is a personal favorite of mine. Met Chuck and we headed out around 0500, air was cool, but water was 67F at the surface. Played around in the main lake for a bit. Soft plastics ( Lizard, beaver and some strange thing from Googan squad) were ...

100 Keeper Fish Day (Legit)
https://youtu.be/xfYSLGwG9Hs
Made it out there for Mother's Day with a blessing from my wife. Long story short it was an epic day for me. Met up with Early release at the gate and headed out on the water. There was not much for topwater but the jig bite was on FIRE. My previous record there was 71 ...

We’re not interested in your fish counts. We all know you slay. We only watch because we want to know what the beverage of the day is.

Pretty sure that boat at the very beginning was my son and I heading out. We were the first to take off from there dock. I watched shawnter’s son rope them while I unloaded the boat. Another cool video
