Re: Boat expenses or cost splits

Well there are options-
1. You could go by yourself and report back to the forums you caught 150 bass no dinks and left at 10 am.
2. I try and charge per Senko I lose that day, usually covers the cost of the boat and a few bags of the ole Gary Yamamoto love.
3. Get 3 other slap nuts to pay $71 per ...

Re: Barrett Lake record

Interesting. That story is on here from the “horse’s mouth”and there wasn’t a scale used…..pretty accurate weight for no scale and the fact they say “the scale said”

This is my fisherkid, and you're absolutely right -- no scale was used and even the length was an estimate. I originally ...

Re: Barrett Rangers

In my opinion fishing without barbs is actually great i personally hate to hurt fish and when a fish gets a hook in the eye or gut its sooooo much easier to take out not to mention that when you do get poked its comes out easy too. Keep this mind... the more rules you break the more risk it is for ...

Grumpyspottie wrote: Tue Jul 23, 2024 3:33 pm Gonna check out Barrett for the first time tomorrow. What rigs should I bring? Thank you.
A good thing to do is peruse the reports that users spend time in creating, which usually includes the rigs that they are using to get fish to go.

Re: Barrett Rental Boats Setups

Hey Brian,

I agree with JWall that a trolling motor up front works much better than mounted on the back by the gas motor. However, it mounts most easily on the back, and depending on who is in your boat, it may be more efficient on the back. For example, I fish with kids, so it's better for me to ...

Re: Barrett Lake record

All you can eat cod. Best you could find anywhere. That place was there since the 30’s or 40’s. My dad said it used to be the place to be in the 50’s. They had live music and dancing. I used to try and make it there once a month until they closed. It’s a shame they made it all that time and then ...

Re: Barrett Rental Boats Setups

I throw my stuff in the same spot every time so I always know where everything is on the boat. Don't need anything fancy to organize it. I use the trolling motor in reverse 90%+ of the day and just treat the back of the boat like the front of the boat once the outboard's off. Already enough work to ...

Who’s in for the closing season?

It was fairly easy to grab boat tickets for the rest of September! Got tickets for either a Saturday or a Sunday and going every weekend but most of all, the last Saturday for the year! :D

Re: First time at Barrett Lake help.

We had an amazing first time. This place was pretty unbelievable. It may have ruined fishing for us anywhere else. My son described it like a video game of catching.

Everyone was so super friendly and helpful. Without the advice and generosity of everyone I don’t think we would we would have had ...

Re: First time at Barrett Lake help.

Were you guys the foursome leaving the dock around 3ish to head back out? If yes, you were asking all the right questions and seemed to have a great plan in place already. As for where to fish, the dock can have plenty of action but 99% of the Barrett experience is out on the lake. Finding a hot ...
