Re: Barrett Blue Gill

They do go absolutely crazy over Berkley Gulp, 2" bloodworm size like used for surf perch, rig on dropshot with small hook, imbed hook point in worm to keep weedless. I use a split shot for a sinker most of the time. Technically not a pure artificial as it is scented/flavored but so are a lot of ...

I'm curious how that works for ticket holders, are they refunded?

For old times....

Been a stranger lately, but c'est la vie. Hope B was good for the junkies, the junkies in progress, and the new folk this season. It truly is a special place for numerous reasons.

I visited my youtube page for the first time in quite a while. Looks like Ive got almost ten years of flicks on that ...

Rain tactic

With the possibility of some rain this coming Saturday, what are some options on type of baits to try? Spinnerbait, Whopper, Pop-R, flukes and bring all your stuff and try them all but what might work best?

Re: Rain tactic

Hi,

The rain should be light, if it happens. If it's light, I have had good success with a noisy topwater. Pretty much wherever in the water column you are, make more noise. If it's heavy rain, I go a little below the surface (1-4 feet down) and still make a lot of noise. If it doesn't rain, but is ...

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B

Anglers get to fish out of their own rental boat in a designated section (Pine, Hauser or Main arms) with a CDFW "concierge" boat close by to collect fish for scientific data collections.

Re: opening day????

It should be Wednesday, May 1st. Normally Barrett is closed the 1st Wednesday of the month but when opening day falls on that day it will be open. I will call the City to confirm.

Re: 2024 Barrett Lake level

There are some small lakes to the north of Barrett off Skye Valley Road, also in the photo. I am assuming these are on private property and not in Cleveland National Forest. Anyone know anything about them?

Re: 2024 Barrett Lake level

Those small lakes are on a private ranch. Sky valley Ranch. I’m close with the owners. Not a place you wanna go sneaking around in. They are their own sheriff. That’s why I post a lot of Barrett pics from the honor camp side because that’s part of their driveway

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B

I doubt that I will volunteer my money in the future. I don't mind losing $14, I mind that they don't respect our donation enough to at least let us know we lost. I have been "ghosted" by CDFW. Ahahaha.

Re: March 22 Flyover

We had a great time at Baccarac and it's true, my best fish was caught on a popper. Love those things. Chuck caught some big fish on the popper, but got the fish of the trip on a crankbait. He only had one of this squarebill, so everytime he'd get hung up, it was kind of stressful to get it back ...

Re: March 22 Flyover

Maybe a silly question when looking at this photo of a full and inviting Barrett Lake, but does anyone know what that small body of water is in the top center of the pic?

On another post, recently ( that's why I know and more importantly remember ) they are on private property and well protected ...

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B

To the 1 of 4 individuals who could not fish on Saturday after Friday's cancellation and rescheduling, THANK YOU!

I now am part of the 8 boats that will be fishing on Saturday, after 4 of Friday's slots were moved to Saturday due to inclement weather.

Anybody fish it this time of year? I ...
