Re: SHARE returns to the Big B

I got Hauser, which I didn't mind since I knew it a little bit better than Pine.

Had about 50 or so fish, not counting the dinks that were a pound or less. Very impressed at the average size. Quite a few of those were 3 to 4 pounds. If I hadn't had to race to the DFW gentleman once I had 3 or 4 ...

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B

It was a great day on Sunday. We caught 70 fish with most between 2 to 4 lbs. We fished the very back of Hauser where the water was 67. Green pumpkin chaterbaits with a small pumpkin fluke, Mega bass jerkbaits and 1/16 oz Hookup baits in natural shad, watermelon/red flake Paca craw, texas rigged ...

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B

You are welcome.

They bring me up to get the motors all running before everyone shows up a week before the event. We had 6 problem motors that did not want to start but got them all up and running. Lori was pretty surprised to hear that.

All in all, a great weekend but the congratulations all go ...

Re: Help save Barrett Lake

Thanks!!

AS explained to me: The SHARE program is a voluntary program that landowners participate in. They donate their highly coveted land to special entry hunting and fishing privileges to the public on a limited basis. They can revoke their participation on a moments notice as it is a privilege ...

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B

Yes, my friends son participated last year as measurer staffer and Matt asked a lot of questions of him.. He was just finishing up his degree at ASU for the same thing and interning with Az Game and Fish. He graduated and He just got hired on by a huge national transmission line construction co as a ...

Re: New motors 2024?

The "new" motors. They were not new out of the box. They said they come from Miramar, lightly used, and I discovered they were not stored properly. They were all fixed and are all good to go now.

Re: Got a Rez…No Idea What Day It’s For 🤷‍♂️

I practiced a little and got opening day real easy. Maybe I got lucky. First opener in a few years for me and really looking forward to it.

Re: opening day????

I had the same issue with trying to sort out the dates. Even though I was prepared to grab ANY date, my panic about not getting anything at all did not help in the slightest. After I started to accept my defeat, I refreshed and noticed that a “calendar” tab popped up — I think TM did this midstream ...

Re: Number of Fish Caught and Time

All depends if you want numbers or want to slow roll a hudd or fish a bigger glide out in deeper waters. I like to fish a trip or two throwing the regulars at them and get my fill with numbers. Then the rest of the trips, dedicate throwing the big baits. They bite the big baits. You may not get ...

Re: Number of Fish Caught and Time

I have had 100 and 200 fish days on plastics. That's just how i fish. Although when top water is working I'm doing it. If you don't get bit keep moving. If they are there they will bite.

Re: Number of Fish Caught and Time

I'm not convinced that Barrett is a great "dark" lake, but it may be that I am not a great ( or even good) dark fisherman. Overall, the numbers are clearly there at Barrett, there's enough people who do put up impressive numbers but they do it over the course of the day. My experience is that you ...

All great info but it’s a bummer the dam is closed off. At times, there can be an epic bite there

Re: Did anyone lose a tackle box?

Hey John, good chatting.... We had an awesome day on Saturday -- not a record day for bass, but any day on Barrett is awesome. I was all geared up for top water and busters, but they were interested in slow presentations. Once I figured that out, I landed 11 bass but nothing particularly large ...

Re: Barrett lake emergency kit

I think I carry too much #hit to begin with to have room for an emergency kit. :-D

But,if there's anything that can fit in an emergency kit that'll fix a pulled hamstring after running down the path with a 60 pound battery....I'm all ears.

Go lithium.... i use to carry around a 31 group ...

Re: If Could Only Bring Three Baits…

Dang, just 3?

My 3 favorite Barrett baits are A Rig, hudd 68, and a big rat. I’ll have to add a fourth…s waver.

But, senkos or any splitshot worm kills if I feel like wearing out my arm.
