The original post was written by DJ Thrillz . Unfortunately it was lost along with the old SDFish forums.
This is an amazing article that will help you catch fish in SD bay, so I figured it has to be re-posted here.

The fishing in SD Bay is simply amazing. You basically have a buffet of fish to ...

No spotties, but…

Fished H.I. this morning, mostly in the deeper channels. Spotties were a no-show, but between my friend and I we caught 3 sculpin, 1 hali, 1 sand bass (small), 5 mackerel. This was our first outing where not a single spottie was in the mix.

Mission Bay Spotties 12/12

Had a great morning in Mission Bay today. Caught and released 11 nice spotties.

Three inch paddletails on keel-weighted hooks slowly pulled through the grass on the bottom was the ticket today. I was fishing an ultralight rig with 4 pound test, and had to make sure my drag was set well because all ...

Re: Big Bay 12-17

Way to adapt and find a winner, something I need to work on. I tend to fish a certain technique, and instead of switching it up when it doesn't work, I just fish it harder (with generally poor results).

Ditto, I seem to do the same. WTG JWall

Re: Big Bay 12-17

I take a different approach. After I catch several fish from a location and the bite slows down or stops, I will switch baits and often catch a few more. Then switch baits again. If I am not catching anything at all, I will move around and switch baits until I find something that works. I carry 5 ...

San Diego Bay Fishing Dialed In! With A Bonefish Bonus!

Hey all I hope the holiday season is treating you right. I headed out to the big bay for some fishing and had not been out there in a while. I met up with some people that said the fishing was slow but picking up. Launched the tube from Tidelands Park ...

Solstice Spotties no pics

4.5 Fish Per Hour.
South Bay float tubing.
The wide open winter bite is not here yet.
Got a handful of foot long spotties.
And thirty typical SoBay rats.
No bonus species.
Calm conditions helped me detect a dozen really subtle bites. Used small tube baits, grubs and even got one on a tiny spoon.

Re: Solstice Spotties no pics

After watching Pourboy’s video, now seeing this report, I think I may have dawned on me one of the reasons why you float tube fellas consistently catch more fish than I do. I fish from a 16’ Saturn in the same areas and rarely eclipse 15 fish. I typically can’t fish the smaller fluke and grub ...

Re: Solstice Spotties no pics

I have one and have used it before. It’s mainly laziness why I don’t use it more often. Maybe it’s time to dedicate a day to testing my hunch.

I find managing the drift to be very important - if you can't keep your offering in the zone you will get fewer grabs.

An electric motor with "Spot ...

Re: Solstice Spotties no pics

I usually just try to keep a constant depth (usually in the 6-10' range) in the tube and let the tide take me out and back, I don't try to hold in one spot. I fan cast all around whatever depth seems to work best for that day. If you have a trolling motor and depth finder, you can do the same with a ...

PB Mullet on a swimbait, SD River channel 12/27

Ran out to the MB jetty to make a few casts and ended with a few species mostly all on the weedless 4" white slim swimmer. Caught my first mullet ever, just after dark, thought maybe it was a baby corvina or a bonefish at first.

Macks were rolling through the jetty channel, and a couple baby ...
