Re: Off the bank

Nice job out there and from the shore!
I bet that was a lot of fun. It brought back a lot of memories when I used to shore pound the lake. Thanks for sharing (fixed the pics) and look forward to see more posts from you.

Victory at Sea...but fish liked it!

So much for weather forecasts! Winds of 10-12 mph predicted..wrong! It started out calm and beautiful, fishing was a little slower than last week, partly because 4 guys were sitting on my not so secret spot! By 9:00, a slight breeze out of the east started up, and living in Ramona, I know that can ...

Flipping a Flooded Forrest for GIANT Bass (video)

Went back to the well at my current favorite lake in San Diego County looking to take advantage of the hot springtime bite that has been going on. The video is compilation of my last 2 trips out there, one in the boat and one walking and wading. Had 7-8 fish per trip with plenty of 2-4lb footballs ...

Love the basic old school hand to hand combat style of fishing. None of this FFS crap! 👍👍

I was out there this weekend fly fishing for carp, got some but not crazy numbers but always fun… I caught a nice 4 lb bass on the fly rod which was cool too.

Thats awesome!

This is dedicated to all guys that think they know everthing about SD bass fishing and say things like, "theres no secrets in SD"

He couldve kept this to himself and hammered it for years, with almost zero crowds. I know, I would have.

1st time to the sunken forest...

Well, I have driven by for years and never stopped to fish...what is wrong with me? Finally gave it a try and rented a boat last Sunday. I mostly wanted to learn about the lake and try a lot of things and that we did. Got a plopper fish early while my buddy Chris was throwing flys at the carp ...

6/4-Quick Shore session(very rare)

Heading out to run errands yesterday morning, I took one rod and a ziplock of a few assorted baits and thought I would stop by Santee Lakes for an hour or so since I would be out in that area. Heck, why not?
Somehow I changed my mind and just headed to the SD River to rough it(ha ha) and toss a few ...

6/7-Return to D & K Lake

Ventured more than a few miles from my house to the lake of Donald and Kiefer this morning. Greeted of course by Mcfish
and then later met up with Fisheromen . Headed over to an area which I quickly labeled "McFish Point" since he does seem to fish there often. Brought my lighter kayak(roughing it ...

I went for the upgrades!

I have endured Mr. Vinnybass harassing me for years, questioning my quanity over quality attitude..so today I put away my finesse baits and brought out the bigger stuff! The good news..I averaged bigger fish (I think). The bad news...my quanity was way down! The worse news...Vinny caught more than ...

Re: I went for the upgrades!

Line size, hook size and bait is a slippery slope =D I definitely think you get more bites on lighter line and smaller hooks. When tuna fishing you sometime need to go down to a size 4 bait hook on a 5 or 6 in sardine to get bit. Then you risk pulling the hook after you bit.

All nice looking ...
