Re: El Cap Ramp

This is so sad that the time is coming when
boats can’t launch and nobody can do anything about it.

Re: El Cap Ramp

It all falls on deaf ears. There can be public meeting after meeting. The so-called leaders already have their minds made up. Now day if they don't see money its not important.
Just check out what LA did with their budget. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

Re: El Cap Ramp

Lake staff at Barrett calls future changes crazy. At todays rates, they make $3K per day when open, and staff is there whether it's open or not, so no savings there by closing, as planned... idiots.

Re: 5/23-Not close to Murray

It's such a great lake! Glad you had a fun time=D

Many decades ago my father and I would drive right by the entrance of Sutherland and head to Lake Henshaw. Caught many bass at
Henshaw mostly using Creme plastic worms, Bombers, Waterdogs(a hard bait( and Sonics. Then I went with a buddy a few ...

El Cap 5/25

Had a really fun day today out there. Not many boats and the fish are chewing! It’s really sad that it’s going to be shut down soon!

Put 14 bass and an ambitious bluegill in the boat today. All but one on power fishing techniques. Finally got my first Neko Rig fish which was nice.

Gunfish ...

Re: El Cap 5/25

Surprisingly I actually came across several bed fish and a couple of pairs still rubbing and getting ready to spawn.

Topwater first thing around the rocks!

Re: El Cap 5/25

Rumor is They stopped taking water from cap. The San Diego bass fishing podcast is very informative when it comes to many things but when it comes to the friends of the lakes fight to keep what little we have left- he’s got a lot of info that we aren’t “in the know” about. If you guys have a chance ...

It’s going to suck whenever it closes down but it would be awesome to get a couple more weeks out of it at least.

Re: El Cap Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Bass fishing on a holiday looks like you had a lot
I guess I always try to avoid holidays to go fishing, but real fishermen like yourself don’t get scared off. Glad you were able to launch and in between catching bass, I bet that catfish was quite a fight.
Thank you so much for sharing and tight ...

Memorable Memorial Day at Murray

My son and I fished Barrett on opening weekend. I never bought into the talk about 100 bass days. Well, I caught 106 and now I am a believer. As you can imagine, I wasn’t expecting much at Murray this morning. I ended up having one of my best days at Murray. It started out slow for me so I switched ...

Re: El Cap Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Front of the lake was much slower. I got in the water around same time you did, got one within the first 10 minutes and then one off a rockpile around 8:30. Front of the lake was also super crowded today. Didn’t really get to fish any of the spots I had planned, I’d kick over to a spot and there’d ...

Re: El Cap Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Glad to see you guys got on em today. I stayed out front for most of the day yesterday and there weren’t many boats out there. Seemed like everyone was running to the breaking fish in the North End.

I got a 21.2 blue out there on a lipless crankbait. Hell of a fight but o kind of figured after it ...

1st time in the kayak out there. Lake was low, windy, and lots of chop and wakes from the boaters.
Started off missing a few in the front, cruised over to the middle right side after an hour in the front. To much wind and chop.
Traveled across to the other side. Thought I was gonna get t boned by ...

5/27- SD River

Talked to a buddy last night and he said the fishing at the river sucks lately, but stubborn me wanted to give it a try. Arrived kind of late morning and did not see one other fishermen. After 2 3/4 hours of not one bite, I can see why. Tried everything from jerk to crank baits, then even to ...

Surprise catch at the Murr 5/27

Had a great 28 fish day today at the Murr. Almost all fish came courtesy of a BFS crankbait. Most of the bass were healthy in the 2+ pound range with 2 of them over 3 lbs.

However the biggest surprise of the day was a nice slab crappie. I fish Murray an average of 3 days per week for the last 3 ...
