Out Monday in Bolsa Chica in afternoon, wind onshore at 15mph so threw the C Rig to no avail, tried the Kastmaster as well for nothing, worked troughs along shoreline but there must not be access, no sign of SC.

Sounds like you were at a family function and knew it was next to the water so grabbed gear just in case??

Started mid day at Huntington cliffs, beach looked good, fishing didn't pan out.
Drove down to Newport pier, 19th street, no good structure to focus on, so went out on pier asking around and watching the conditions. There was no bait around the pier, "NO" birds working as for as I could see. Water ...

On the positive side I easily found parking at all 3 spots, for no cost even.
Take the win when you can.

Camping at Jalama early October so looking forward seeing big BSP.

Jalama beach was great BSP fishing on 10-5, plenty of sand crabs all over, most small but with effort, found good size. Did not find any with eggs though. Quite a lot of salad, but just small casts of 20ft was clear of it and the small ones were hungry.
