Re: Miramar 7/1
Great job, man! I went there yesterday for a couple of hours with only 3 to show for it. A much different bite than the week prior. I did hear the fish giggling at me as well. By the way I think you mean 8/1 for the title, correct?
Yeah, I saw that "7/1 date" also. I was going to ask Dan the ...

Re: Cap the 4th
My buddy Ted fishes Frog and Toads often up at Clear Lake and he soaks them in Dr Juice. He drops a squirt into a sandwich bag and dips that thing in there all day. Says they hold on to it longer. I fish a different Topwater, but it is also soft. When they eat it, instead of a hard strike back, I ...

El Cap 8/5
I've been seeing all your posts about the El Cap bite. I decided to give it a try. I managed a mere 6 clones in 7 hours. All of them looked pretty much like the one in the picture. Musta come from the same litter.

Re: Miramar, not as remarkable but...
Always have fun fishing up at Miramar.....just don't like traffic on 15 and 8 east especially on the way home. Lots of memories flash through my head every time I fish there. I really enjoyed your video and thanks for sharing it with us. I seem to be always thirsty after your videos...ha ha.

Re: El Capitan 8/12
I never said BFS never works in grass (even though McFish tried to quote me with out me saying a word….. but after all he is Mcfish).
Anyway, I just wanted to say what a nice job you did out there at El cap.
Tight lines always buddy!

Frankenstein bait at El Cap 8/15
Much like earlier in the week I caught a couple of topwater early and 1 jig fish. After that the only thing that seemed to get their attention was a worm. So I T-rigged it and caught 6 or 7 that way but over half of them choked it, necessitating surgery. This is the primary reason I find of stopped ...

Otay 8/17
Had a bit of a rough one at Otay yesterday. Got out as soon as it opened and fished till noon with only 6 dinks to show for it. I tried multiple baits in every part of the water column and just couldn't find any willing participants. I didn't even bother with pictures.
So instead I went home and ...

8/21-Murray "Oh YEAH!"
With a very hot day ahead, I was going to stay home but decided to go to Murray. Finally got on the water a little after 7am and messed around trying to catch one of the bass chasing shad along the surface. It was next to impossible as those little buggers were up and down quickly but did pick up ...

El Cap 8/23 All about the crank!
One of my best days ever for El Cap!
Launched about 6:30 and headed over to the island that used to be in the front part of the lake. Started off with the frog on got a chunky little guy on my third cast. Two casts later I got a 3 pounder that choked it. Two blow ups, two fish. Thought it was on at ...

8/25 SD River/Quick Session/Shore
Did a quick session down at the SD River from shore. Took 2 rods and just some light tackle. Arrived around 7am, despite saying to myself that I was going to be there early. I got only 4 bites and landed the 4 bass using a fluke and plastic worms. Nothing real big but still had fun time as the bass ...

Tough couple of days but...
I fished Saturday at El Capitan in my new float tube. It's pretty amazing on the water. Fastest I've ever seen because of it's design. I was worried that it might get really hot being black, but honestly, I really didn't notice any difference over my other tube on the water. I was so anxious to get ...

9/3 Just Dinks/Murray
Went to Murray as it got hot very quick(the weather I mean). I messed around with breaking bass that almost all of them were pretty small. Same story as they are feeding on shad and that is what they want. I tried baits that in the past were a sure thing which gets me pretty frustrated when they don ...

9/5-SD River- "Oh yeah.. Again!"
Flipped a coin and just decided to just take a couple rods down to the SD River for a a short shore section before the heat arrives. A tiny bit cooler with a little early cloud cover, but knew that was not going to last.

El Cap 9/9
With the Murr closed I decided to go to the captain yesterday after dropping off the kids at school. I didn't get on the water till a little after 9, and caught the very tail end of the morning busters.

Very nice, your Mr. consistent that’s what you are.
Thanks for the post
If consistent means old, tired, lazy, and liking to float around in my inflatable yacht chair throwing around fishing lures several days per week then yeah GUILTY haha. Catching is just a bonus. I always said that someday I ...

Murray 9/11
I remember maybe 10 years ago I had decided that jigs were some kind of elaborate joke created by pros and perpetrated on us mere mortals. Over the years I had tried jigs on numerous occasions, and all I ever caught was grass, moss, and tree branches. Not to mention losing a bunch of them after ...

Re: Murray 9/11
Will join in the early doubter-now promoter of jigs crowd. Didn’t hurt seeing Pourboys videos either but the now love affair started at the Cap 2 seasons back with that years best bass and has grown since. And downsizing helps if its not an all out bite or in clearer water.
