Re: 7/8- Miramar Rocks!
Great job and thanks for the update. I can't wait to get back out on the water, hopefully soon. Cheers!
Missing your reports...what's up?
Hey thanks for reaching out. My wife had cancer surgery and I have not been fishing lately. It went very well and we believe that we got it all.
I had ...

Re: 7/8- Miramar Rocks!
My prayers go out to you for your wife and for you to be strong throughout this stressful time.
Hopefully all will be well and both of you can clear your minds and get back to less stressful things.
Best wishes and tight lines always my friend.

Murray monday
I got on the water at 5:30. In the summer months I am not dropping the kids off at school everyday, so I do get on the water earlier albeit less frequently. They'll be seniors next year, which is hard to believe.

Froggin and jiggin Otay 7/23
Ended the morning with 9 fish total. All on jigs along drop offs, and frogs across the top of floating vegetation mats (of which there are plenty). I put a new seat in my float tube and man is it nice! Ergonomic and no more sliding down in the seat. Should have done it years ago.

Fun morning at D&K 7/25
Final count was 13 with three of them over 3 pounds, one over 4 pounds and the best was a 6.2 pounder.
All fish were courtesy of a jig. I tried throwing a walking bait numerous times and had only one bite which came unbuttoned. The topwater action never really got going that I saw.

Re: This Still Works! Lake Miramar
Fished Miramar almost every weekend with my dad starting in the early 70s. I always remember walking along the shore and fishing between the tulles because there was a lot of space back then to fish from shore. When we threw plastic worms, we always put a split shot up the line so that the worm ...

Murray 7/29
A couple of pics from Murray today.
Topwater was going OFF early on and I managed 7 fish - split between a Gunfish 80, and a little Nage swimbait. Lots of fun. Then at around 7:00 it's like someone rang the school bell, and the topwater playground cleared out completely. So I went to the bottom ...

Re: Murray 7/29
I got them from Paramount outdoors on @Pourboy 's recommendation. He has a discount code on his "Beefshaman" YouTube channel. They didn't have the zippered ones in my size but that's ok. The ones I got are excellent quality and reasonably priced.

7/30-Lake Miramar
Not sure where I wanted to go this morning so I loaded up my kayak and made a quick decision to head up to Lake Miramar. With a little fog over the water I searched for something on top, but still not really happening yet other than a few that rippled the surface in about an hour of looking. So I ...

Otay 7/30
Fun froggy morning at Otay. Only 5 bass, but all over 3 lbs with the best going 3.76. also managed a few beefy bluegill trolling crank baits when changing froggin spots.
I'm impressed with the quality of the new Paramount waders. They seem really well made. Time will tell how many trips I make ...

I also need to get out there a little more often. Topwater action is still not really happening but can take off pretty soon.
Tight lines always Chris.

7/31 Miramar Morning
Fished Miramar this morning from 0830-1100. It was pretty slow for me. Caught a couple on the Texas rigged 7” robo. Nothing up top.

8/1-SD River Fun from Shore
Decided to skip a trip to the Lake of D & K due to hot weather. Oh course I was bored after my coffee and biscotti and kept bouncing the idea that maybe I could just head down to the SD River or Murray and fish from shore for couple hours before it gets too hot. Finally I grabbed 2 rods and a ...
