Re: San V 2/18 Bees, busters and Bassholes!

Float tubers are safe, I had one of the 1st ones out here in SD back in the early 80’s and fished the SD River, Barrett, and all over both bays, throughout my teenage years (back when they were called belly boats) and had a blast doing so! Forced me to learn patience and how to work an area ...

Lake Dixon Weekly Update from a Bass Guy

Well our boat rental plans bombed, so chose to spend an hour on a pier looking for what is different from last week.
Last week:
Water level lowest I've seen in 15-years.
Through clear water to about 15', nothing looked attractive at all.
Skunked.
Crappy trout fishing as the scheduled plant could not ...

San V 2/22 Better size today

Lots of boats out today, probably tomorrow as well, pre fishing for the Angler's Marine tournament on Saturday. Got there earlier than usual today and ended up at the end of the second line of boats. Haven’t seen more than 5 or 6 boats in line the last few weeks.

Being that far back, I was shocked ...

Re: Lake Dixon Weekly Update from a Bass Guy

Dixon, now there's a word we've not heard for a long, long time... great report, gracias.

Reminds me of when you had a chance a catching a bass worth ONE MILLION DOLLARS!

I had a chance at her, one of just a handful of folks, story here:

Awesome multi-species day 2/23/24

Had an awesome multi-species day BFS fishing at lake Murray. Ended up with 13 Bass and two Trout. I was throwing mini Ned rigs, and tiny jigs with TRD Crawz trailers. Most of the bass were in the 2 pound range with one over 3, and another close to 4 lbs. I have to admit, BFS has rapidly become my ...

Re: Awesome multi-species day 2/23/24

Great job out there again and always fun to see and chat with you. Those small baits and BFS fishing are sure
playing off. It was funny as I told my buddy Curt in the other boat on how I have not caught a bass over that
structure near the point entering San Carlos arm for a while and then watched ...

El Cap 2-24 Can’t Complain! With a PSA

Hit a lake for the first bass fishing since mid November. It wasn't an epic bite, or even a steady bite, but I was rewarded with one nice one, going 4lbs-12oz on the digital. It bit a pumpkin/purple jig with a pumpkin/purple Power craw pinned on. I must give props to Pourboy for that color ...

Re: El Cap 2-24 Can’t Complain! With a PSA

Brother and I were there in the dam arm for the first 4 hours of the day and the last two. Rangers let us in way early, we were down on the shore when it was still pitch dark. First hour of light was on fire, we got bit on plastics (no luck on reaction but I did lose a 110 sadly) and after that it ...

2/25 Otay & 2/26 Murray

Well left my house late Sunday morning and took my kayak down to Otay. Didn't arrive till 8:45, but did not matter much as
I mostly wanted to just get my PA 12 back in the water again. I have not taken it out since late November. Anyway....it was
an easy launch as I parked right next to the water. I ...

San V 2/26 Way better than I expected.

After the fish were hammered with 110 teams in the Anglers Marine tournament on Saturday, my expectations were set pretty low. The morning started out about how I thought it would. There were only about 6 boats when I launched but one of them ended up on the spot I wanted to start on. No biggie ...

Re: Confidence Baits or New Baits: Which Do I Fish?

It can definitely be tough to get comfortable with a new bait, or technique. One of the reasons I’m glad I no longer fish tournaments is that I can go out and just fish free. No stress about money, or points being on the line. It has allowed me to expand my fishing so much more.

I tend to use new ...

Re: Confidence Baits or New Baits: Which Do I Fish?

Obsess over where to fish and what to throw? Me?! LOL that’s got to be all of us. Lately location is anywhere away from the tournaments. I make lists and lists of tactics, each different for every lake. I love trying newer weapons, hence the jig Saturday. More of a rubber worm guy for bottom fishing ...

Some guys might know me.....

There are some guys here that might still remember me. I used to be a Socal native and fished the Socal lakes a lot on a tube dragging a jig. Just wanted to drop this video for you guys this is not in Socal. I have since then moved to the Central valley and now do kayak tournaments up here. This is ...

San V Leap Day, steady but slow

I realize that may sound like a contradiction but it pretty much describes my day. Fishing was actually better on Monday, at least for me. I ended up with a Bakers Dozen but there was no size to them and I struggled for bites.

I would get a fish or two off a spot and it would die. I ended up ...

Lake of D & K: Where did the water go?

Well it was a 77 mile trip to the lake and back home.....or was that just a large farm pond I fished at today???
Last year the water level at the lake of Donald & Kiefer was so high that you had to launch up near the concession stand as the
parking lot was all under water. It was absolutely ...

San V 3/4 Epic morning

I’m really bummed I have to go back to work next Monday. The last two have been really good to me at San V. Last week I got the 7lber and today I boated 27 (no BS, I have pics of most of them).

The bite started almost right away this morning. Messed around with a chatterbait for about a dozen casts ...
