Re: Storm Fishing Again?! Barrett 5/5
I was hoping to see you have a similar day on the blade like you had at Hodges when it was pouring out. Nice video as always. Chocolate beer hmmm
. Maybe.

Re: Storm Fishing Again?! Barrett 5/5
Great video and you could feel that weather! And nice touch bringing a bartender with you 😂 Speaking of, Resident Brewery came out with a chocolate raspberry beer a while back (since discontinued). I’m not much on those flavors but paired with a shot of peanut butter whiskey was outrageously good ...

Re: Storm Fishing Again?! Barrett 5/5
Was that you that hooked up right as I was passing you in a boat? we actually had two boats. I kept staring at all the tubers looking for you with my Pop because we enjoy your videos so much and had some cold ones too share. Maybe we can hookup in June for a midday brew on the lake!

Barrett Report May 11
Nice day on the water at Barrett, was reasonably warm even in the dark. Not sure I like traversing the lake in the fog, in the dark though.
Water started out at 68F and wind was pretty calm. First fish was on a bad cast ( backlash and me picking it out in the dark). I hit the shoreline and it was ...

Sunday May 19th
I’m sure some of the regulars had typical May Barrett days but we sure didn’t. The girl and I teamed up for 25 bass to 3lbs but it was a pick at best with no topwater or boilers to throw at. A far cry from our 44 last Saturday in a short morning session. My guess is the wind and cold, wet foggy ...

Re: Sunday 5/19 Report. Jig bite was on!
You were spot on with the deeper bite. We enjoyed watching you two dissect that flat across from us, it produced for hours! We think the big one that finally broke Cynthia off after our Chinese fire drill was a hefty cat. Interesting that Brad got into one too.

Barrett Report May 22
Got on the water dark and early with Chuck at about 0430. Freeeeeezing cold this morning. Truck temp gauge told me it was 42F, but it seemed colder. Light wind too, so that probably didn't help. Pedaled over to where it was good last week, and it was decent, but not as good. First fish in the boat ...

SATURDAY morning bite
Got to the lake at 6 today was a little chilly but not too bad.Parking however was a mess but was still able to get a decent spot. I usually hit the first cove but decided to head straight for hauser, flipped the edges of trees with no luck ... headed for the middle of the lake to deep crank but i ...

Barrett Report May 26
Got out nice and early on the water today. It wasn't too chilly then, but it changed. Pedaled over to the cove by the island at the opening of Hauser and got hits right away. It must have been dark for them too, the one I caught hit the popper at least 5 times before he got it. He was only about a ...

Wed 29th top water fun!!
Got out usual time, Jose let us in early, wasn’t too busy at Pigs, met our buddies Dave and Joe, headed to Hauser. Consistently good popper bite ALL day, even got one on a Rat, the biggest was 4lb on a frog! Braided line really got it done, did lose some big fish on barbless hook, but overall ...

June 8th bite
Trying out my brothers Pro Angler. I normally have a double seater mirage that I use. It is lighter but definitely not as stable as the pro angler. Going to have to get a pro angler. It was definitely easier on my back than my old mirage. Headed out in the dark and through the fog. Spent a bunch of ...

Re: June 8th bite
That's a great shot of the bobcat. I really like Barrett partially because you do get to see a lot of animals, but I haven't seen a bobcat. That's really cool. Of course the fishing is pretty cool too.

Re: June 8th bite
We didn’t see the usual mammals there yesterday but my new-found birding fanatic glassed a big heron feeding a large, loud nest of babies with regurgitated fish she was prowling the shoreline for. A great show!!SSG Stubbs wrote: Mon Jun 10, 2024 10:20 am Never seen a mountain lion but love seeing the different wildlife there.

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16
Hey Dave never brought beers on my boat 🤔
Great day out there Chris! Your whopper plopper retrieve caught my eye…are you actually pausing just an hair and letting it sink some or is that my imagination? I’ve always used a constant fairly quick retrieve like a buzzbait so it always stays on top of ...

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16
Great day on the water with you. Thanks for the tutorial on jigs. I was so excited with that fish until he clearly knew what he was working with and wrapped me around a tree. I'm going to practice a bit more.
John, apologies. I will definitely fix that on our next trip. I actually bought a new ...
