Re: San Diego Bay, Crazy Good Fishing!
https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Single_Replacement_Hook_X_Strong/descpage-OSRH.html
Tackle Warehouse has good ones. Big eye so they don’t hang up on the split ring.
I will be ordering as well. I found a pack of single hooks in my garage tackle store that were the right size but normal ...

Re: Coronado Cays after the storm, yuck
Thanks for the update! Those heads are my go to for sure. They are inexpensive easy to use and most importantly they work great! I'll be posting my Sunday trip to the bay shortly. Cheers!

San Diego Bay Fishing: I Found Them!
https://youtu.be/dACeHDFKhO0
Hey all!
I have been fishing the lakes lately but with limited success. So Saturday I had a trip to the bay planned that had to be postponed due to the winds. I ended up going to Lake Miramar and got there at 7am after sleeping in just a bit. I did not realize that ...

Re: San Diego Bay Fishing: I Found Them!
I love fishing in the rain! I was warm and dry (except for hands and face, though I do have some nice neoprene gloves) and catching fish. What more could I ask for.JWall wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2025 5:59 pm Excellent effort and tips as always! Had a big smile as you enjoyed the rain. Clearly you were a happy baby![]()

Re: You should have been here yesterday!
Last year, when I was able to get out twice a week, and with high water the fishing was epic for me at San V. It was awesome to be able to stay with he fish from 40-50' all the way up to the waterfall in Barona a couple of months later. Ill be getting out for my first trip of the year this weekend ...

Re: Skunked but....Otay 2/2
Hey guys that was awesome! Great people and stubborn fish. We could not have had better weather. And yes, I don't think that we left anything else to try. Fishing an armada line from the tules to 25+ feet while throwing the tackle box at them. Oh well it was a blast. I also talked to a couple of ...

Re: San Diego Bay Fishing: I Found Them!
Your videos are beneficial for getting over second-guessing bay fishing. A trip with FIshtricks also greatly demystified things. I have done about half a dozen visits from Zuniga jetty to Pepper Park, all in the Kayak, so it's time for the being fishy part to kick in, at least on some trips!
It ...

Re: Hodges
I went this morning with 1 million of my closest friends. Got in line at 5:30 with 25+ cars in front of me. When it opened at 6:07 I had at least that many behind me too. Concession was not open and could only use the vending machine. Lots of P/Oed people who did not bring exact change. Finally got ...

Re: Hodges
I was interested in going to Hodges but I thought about the crowds for the opener and changed my mind. Any word on the crappies? I'm wondering how many are left after getting smashed the last 2 years with the low water situation.
I saw a LOT of crappie guys out there, but I did not see one ...

Re: Hodges
I too was at Hodges but was one of the lucky pissed off people behind Pourboy. Got the last parking spot all the way up by the porta potties and on the water by 7:45. Hodges concession was not ready for the opener I assume. Or someone was sleeping on the job. Got 2 as I came around the point on ...

The End Of An Era...Sadness Follows
Hey all,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. I have been having difficulty finding the Bleeding Craw colored Strike King Bitsy Bugs for sale. I just found some on EBay and snapped them up as the Hodges season had begun. I decided to reach out to the company and asked if they are still ...

Re: What a challenge 2/11
I got to Murray this morning forgetting it was the second Tuesday of the month and it was closed, so I pivoted and went to Mission Bay instead.
I launched from Dana Landing at around 8:30 and the tide was high. I landed a couple of small spotties among the anchored boats, when Fish and Game ...

Hodges Week 2
Hey all,
I headed back to Hodges today for a quick morning sesh before work. I got there at 5:30am just like last week but instead of having 25 cars in front of me when I got there I only had 3 today. I know the slow first week and the rain kept people away. But I gots to know! You may or may not ...
