Miramar let me down

I was so excited to fish Lake Miramar this morning. I have a really awesome history with this lake and was super excited to get back to it. I had heard nothing but good things about it lately and talked to several people who had fished it in the last couple of weeks Who said it was on fire. Upon ...

Re: Miramar let me down

For years and years, Miramar has been a mystery as far as what the water level will be each week or two. It fluctuates so much that I used to go up there on a weekend just to check the water level so that I would not get a big surprise and not be able to launch my boat a few days later. Even just ...

Re: Miramar let me down

Me too!!! I rolled into Miramar on Friday morning to see the water low, knowing that the ramp wouldn't be open. It wasn’t. So me and my buddy went to Murray and I managed 3 small keepers. But I checked the city website page for Miramar. Didn’t even say anything about the ramp being closed! Lame! I ...

Re: The grind at Cap

Thanks for the update! I've been out there the last 2 weeks also with mixed results. I'm a lot more familiar with the small rockpiles in other lakes and have been trying to hunt new ones as the water levels change. Keep on grinding.

Re: Miramar let me down

Sadly, in recent years, it’s almost like you have to drive up there the day before or two days before you go fishing just to make sure the launch ramp is open. It is a waste of gas but at least you know. I just found it easier to take my kayak when I have gone up there so I don’t have to worry ...

Re: 11/21-SD River am session

Awesome Job! Again! ...and by the way does anyone know why it's called June Bug? I've wondered that for decades but never bothered to look into it.

Re: 11/21-SD River am session

After asking I looked it up and I found that the first reference was in 1986. Mann’s plastics made a Black Grape with Green Flake and called it that but never said why. At least that’s what I read and we know that everything you read on the internet is true. So there you go!

Thanks so much! Actually it was a HUGE stingray. Around 24-30” in diameter. I wish I could have filmed that underwater but I was having issues. Go out and get em’!

Re: Mmmmm, brownies!

Beautiful fish! I was in Montana earlier this year and heard that the browns with the fewer spots are Spanish Browns vs. the others being German Browns. I haven't done much research into it though. Thanks for the update and the gorgeous pics!

Re: Surf fishing waders — what do y'all use?

Hey all I use my waders weekly and have had many different varieties over the years. Here is a company that I found (Paramount Outdoors) and purchased their Zipper Front Deep Eddy. The zipper is amazing!!! The best I have ever had. They don't have boots attached but I highly recommend them. They are ...
