Re: El Cap: Topwater and Jigs

Nice! I’ve heard that there can be good smallmouth on the lower Owen’s River. I’ve only done trout up there. Enjoy! It’s beautiful this time of year.

Lake Hodges 9/22

Hey all I I headed out to Hodges yesterday for three hours in the morning. I got there at 5:30 AM and was the second car in line. The gates didn’t open till after 6 AM and I was on the water around 6:30 AM. The water was way down from the last time I had been out there, and was color of bad gravy. I ...

Re: Lake Hodges 9/22

That’s awesome! Yes, the smell for sure. I went there not long ago and when I got out the car the the smell took me back to being 12 and playing around the lake. I didn’t make it all the way to the dam but by the floating bathrooms it was still dark water. I’m ready for the new dam for sure!

The Fish Were Stacked!

Barrett Bass Fishing: The Fish Are Stacked!
https://youtu.be/jghSdLEiRYY

So I went back to Barrett…

This report(video) was from the hottest day of the year. I decided to head out just for a couple of hours before the furnace ignited. I got out on the water with only 1 other car at Pigs. I headed ...

Re: The Fish Were Stacked!

Outstanding once again!! But who is distracting who?! 😂😂 You are a lucky man for having an understanding partner in life. 👍

Thanks so much! I believe in the video I said that the fish were distracting me from talking with my wife. She is absolutely amazing and when I get stressed she tells me ...

Re: The Fish Were Stacked!

You love fishing jigs because you are amazing at it. Or, probably more correct you worked hard to learn them and become amazing at them. I think your feel of the structure might be better than panoptix. :)

Thanks so much. Not sure if my braille method is better than modern technology but I sure ...

Re: Lake Hodges 9/22

Only 10 years or so , if we're lucky, based on the City of SD ineptitude & CA state stipulations....
🙄😔

I think it would be fun to start a bet on when the new dam will be done and the lake full again. I’ll throw out 2038. Man! That sounds a long time away but we are already 1/4 of the way ...

Re: El Cap: Topwater and Jigs

Pourboy,
Once again an outstanding video.
Thanks.
You seem to be the man on documentation.
Also another tip of the hat to your background music choice.
You can't always get what you want.
My sons, now 30ish, were raised on me and his mom repeating this lyric. They know it word for word to this day ...

Those I usually just go into the store to buy. It’s one of the few colors they do have there.

Re: What was your secret bait or lure?!

Mine is the Strike King Bitsy Bug with the Berkley Fatty Craw trailer. I’ve always liked jigs there but this year seemed even better for me. Normally I throw a Chartreuse Double Willow Spinnerbait too but the muck this year kept that one back.
