Re: Lower Otay

As Robert says, a worm. Years ago and with water up into the tules just right, I won a small tourney flipping 8” t-rigged chocolate neon blue worms into the tules. To this day I see guys nailing them on dropshots and my gal caught her first plastic worm bass there on a t-rigged roboworm. In fact on ...

Re: Lower Otay

If you free line a senko on the edge of the tulles
or even a little deeper and work them slowly over the grass has always been a good option also.

Murray monday

I got on the water at 5:30. In the summer months I am not dropping the kids off at school everyday, so I do get on the water earlier albeit less frequently. They'll be seniors next year, which is hard to believe.

Anyway I saw VinnyBass out there on his electronics-free kayak doing his Vinny thang ...

Froggin and jiggin Otay 7/23

Ended the morning with 9 fish total. All on jigs along drop offs, and frogs across the top of floating vegetation mats (of which there are plenty). I put a new seat in my float tube and man is it nice! Ergonomic and no more sliding down in the seat. Should have done it years ago.

Yep, specifically this one. But as you might imagine, I kinda had to abandon my beloved BFS gear to throw that frog lol.

7/28- Monday Morning Murray

Headed over to Murray and joined by my buddy Joe for a little morning session. The bass are there, but up and down so fast off the surface that it has been very challenging. Actually it is frustrating especially when you land you bait right next to or on top where a bass just jumped and no takers ...

This Still Works! Lake Miramar

https://youtu.be/U4Yigc75sRI
Hey all,
I haven't gotten to post (or fish) in a while. I did have the opportunity to head out for just a few hours on Saturday to Lake Miramar. It was a nice mental therapy session just to decompress. The bonus was that I caught fish! I just wanted to take it back old ...

7/30-Lake Miramar

Not sure where I wanted to go this morning so I loaded up my kayak and made a quick decision to head up to Lake Miramar. With a little fog over the water I searched for something on top, but still not really happening yet other than a few that rippled the surface in about an hour of looking. So I ...

Otay 7/30

Fun froggy morning at Otay. Only 5 bass, but all over 3 lbs with the best going 3.76. also managed a few beefy bluegill trolling crank baits when changing froggin spots.

I'm impressed with the quality of the new Paramount waders. They seem really well made. Time will tell how many trips I make ...

8/1-SD River Fun from Shore

Decided to skip a trip to the Lake of D & K due to hot weather. Oh course I was bored after my coffee and biscotti and kept bouncing the idea that maybe I could just head down to the SD River or Murray and fish from shore for couple hours before it gets too hot. Finally I grabbed 2 rods and a ...

Can't fool me twice!

Last week I wasted 3 hours waiting for the busters that never showed up...not this week! I started out fishing creatures on rock piles in 8'-20' of water and found fish right off. If you didn't feel rocks or trees, you weren't getting decent fish! I ended up with only 13 fish, but the quality was ...

8/4-Mixing it up at Murray

Got on the water around 7:20 and was thinking of flippin' the tulles, but with bass breaking the surface here and there, that flippin idea never materialized. It was frustrating to say the least
as the bass were up and down fast again so instead of wasting lots of time chasing them(most were pretty ...
