Donald and Keiffer stirring
Well for the first few hours it seemed like bad business as usual at the old lake. Just cold and rainy! The game plan was to throw a buzz bait through flooded brush. If that failed, a spinnerbait through flooded brush. I just knew they had to be in flooded brush! Well, if they were, they were not ...

Re: Donald and Keiffer stirring
Very nice! I was getting concerned last week that spring was never going to happen on D.K.! I think when summer gets here, they'll be in the brush...if the City doesn't take all the water out first! I never thought of taking a photo while laying on my side!!!

Re: Donald and Keiffer stirring
Nice job @fisheromen and under cool conditions at the lake of D & K. Looks like you had some fun and sorry to hear about the one that got away(you will hopefully catch him and bigger ones sooner or later). The water level at the lake has been so high that I thought you had to fish sideways judging ...

San Vicente May 6
I'm new to the whole bass fishing thing so this was my first time on the water trying to catch some largies.
Thanks to VinnyBass who was kind enough to provide me with some detailed advice I felt like I knew what I was doing. Not a lot of action though but we've caught a few between myself and the ...

I learned that surgical tubing trick fishing steelhead on the Klamath River!Stringbean wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 3:59 pm I forgot to add, if your getting a lot of snags.
You can cut 1/4” surgical tubing to slide over your weight , it will pull off and you’ll get your weight back.
Good luck

Back to Monday Fun day!
It took San V an extra month to get going, but it's on now! What a difference 2 weeks makes...got there at sunrise 2 weeks ago, 6 boats..today at sunrise, more like 30! First cast, lost a 6lber in a bush..bad omen, nope! I got into a solid pattern and didn't move more than 100' for the next 5 hours ...

Not moving more than a 100' in 5 hours, impressive! That's spot fishing for sure. Nice work!

Re: Back to Monday Fun day!
I wondered when "Monday Fun Days" was going to return and looks like it did so in great form. Great job out there @McFish and some nice fish. So more boats were on the water today and probably more next week, but doubt more boats will distract you from catching bass. Heck, I tried to distract you ...

May 9- Lake Miramar
Knowing that 15 north morning traffic on a weekday gets crazy and going south in the late afternoon a lot worse, I decided to head up to Lake Miramar and put in a little fishing time in my kayak. Knowing that I need to make the most of my time on the water I quickly headed across the lake.

Lake skinner
I’ve been skunked at skinner 4 times now. Today was my fifth trip and the maiden voyage for my new scanoe. Only fished for a couple hours, but was able to get in some spots the bass boats couldn’t. The one day I don’t bring my scale or net…. I caught 2 tanks of bass. Being humble, the first one was ...

Cap 5/12 - quick shore trip
Made a quick trip down to El Cap yesterday after work - arrived about 3:30pm to howling wind and whitecaps that made casting a challenge. Water level is down several feet from my last visit and the dried out slime from all the moss is covering the first few feet of bank.
