Re: Three little bass

If I did not know you better, I would think you caught three bass between 3 to 5 pounds and keeping it low-key…. but since you’re such an honest guy, I have to believe that you got three small bass. Getting on the water is always better then not getting on the water and catching bass no matter what ...

A spring day on San V...not!

I got to the lake at 6:15, under dark, cold, cloudy, drizzly skies..which pretty much remained that way for the next 6 hours!! The lake seems about a month behind with the unseasonably cold spring we're having! I ended the day with 14 fish, mostly small males which I hadn't planned on fishing for ...

Re: A spring day on San V...not!

Great to see you back on the waters of San V again and posting on this new site. It used to be McFish Mondays and I never had to worry about you dropping in to Murray and trying to take over some of my spots(ha, ha ...just kidding of course). I bet it was pretty cool out there on Monday, but ...

Murray: Kayak or Boat=Same results

Hit Murray in my kayak yesterday morning(4/19) and then again this morning(4/20) only this time in my boat. There has to be some casting advantage especially in a boat being higher above the water(not related to 4/20 high..ha ha) but there really wasn't any.
Anyway, basically the same results ...

Early release wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 6:50 pm I was out on Sunday and pretty much had the same fishing experience. I was happy to see the fish I did, since it's my third time at San V and the other two times I only caught trees. I'm looking forward to it warming up, it's a nice place to fish. san V.jpg
The trees are always biting at San V!

El Cap 4/23/23

Fun little trip to El Cap this morning. Night and day from last weekend were I managed 2 fish in 2 days.
Mostly worm fish, with an underspin bonus. Tight to or in cover was the key for me. Managed a mission to get one of my catches out of a bush that involved me keeping pressure on the fish for 5 ...

Otay 4/22, San V 4/23

I launched my kayak at Otay for the evening bite. It was slow fishing, however managed to a catch few dinks. Water is the highest I’ve ever seen it at. Most fish caught shallow and tight to structure. Water temps on the colder side.

Launched at San V early morning. They had a night tournament the ...

Hitting 2 different lakes in 2 days......Sweeeeeeeeet!
From semi murky water to clear water really can test a fisherman.
I remember those days and need to try to do that a few times this year.
Anyway, nice job out there and thanks for sharing(love the pics!)

Heartbreak lake

The heartbreak is you get turned around on the quagga mussel inspection 90% of the time from a ridiculous reason. Example, a eucalyptus leaf that fell in your boat the morning you drove up and you missed it. Or condensation.

After much praying on the way there, we passed the inspection. What a ...

Re: Murray 4/26-Mixed it up

Hit Murray this morning(like you guys did not see that coming...ha ha) and it was cool and overcast. I heard of a few topwater stirrings from my buddy Larry who wrangled in some recent topwater bass, so I was ready. It is still a little early for topwater and should be going off a lot better as we ...

Re: San vee 4/24 monday

Thanks Stringbean for the heads up.
It's nice to have the new site up. San Vee was good to me also. 5 green monsters (at this point any fish is a monster). It's been a tough beginning this year for me. I can remember being blanked as much as I have this year. I was starting to question my abilities ...
