Nov 12-Quick River trip
Was on vacation and between doing lots around the house have not been fishing much. Yeah caught some dinks the week before last at Murray, but nothing to get too excited about. Since I haven't posted for a while, I decided to post a quick report from fishing the SD River this morning. The water has ...

Don't use the weighted hooks that often, but it makes the senko a little more weedless as aKillinTime wrote: Wed Nov 12, 2025 9:20 pm That second one look chunky. Way to go!
Those weighted hooks are super versatile. They work real good in the kelp too.
Neko rigged senko gets hung up a lot when
flipping into heavy cover.

Re: Murray 11/20
Glad you're still Kicking!
Nice job, looks like fun. BFS Right? =D
I'd call it more a combination of BFS and power BFS. Some came on a Dobyns Sierra rod with a small Megabass Griffon crank bait. But most came on my Trika 6x medium rod throwing a 3/16 jig with a 2.5 inch Yum chunk trailer, so I ...

El Capitan Nov.23
Had a fun morning at the Cap with Early release , CorsoEnthusiast , and Pourboy . I only caught 3 includingnone swimbait fish, and a couple on topwater Gunfish. Jeremy did the best of all of us, and held down the fort with around 7 I believe. He put on a Neko rig clinic.

Yes a little bit anyway. Water temp was in the low 60s when we first got on the water. It climbed a few degrees later in the day.KillinTime wrote: Mon Nov 24, 2025 7:41 pm Late season topwater. Way to go! How's the grass there dying off yet?

Re: El Capitan Nov.23
It was a fun learning experience. The new ride is definitely taking some getting used to. I need to tweak some things and adjust others. I definitely did not fish as hard this time out.
I will have a full setup video coming soon.
I remember you posting a new ride around a year ago? Right ...

Murray Stocked 12/3
For those of you interested the DFG stocked Murray yesterday with trout. I have no idea how many pounds, but it wasn't a tremendous amount, and they were small. Most appeared around 10 inches. I suspect most of them will become bass snacks by the weekend, so swimbaits should be a great option for a ...

Re: Dec. 4-Quick River session
Thanks for sharing.
I take all the info I get from you regulars (Lake, SD River, Colorado River, IB Valley, Etc.) and try to use it on the rare times I get out there!
Most of the time I’m mixing it up between a Googan Krackin craw, Zoom Brush hog, Senko or a curly tail or straight plastic worm ...

Re: Jiggy at Murray 12/2
Solid job Dan!
I know they are deeper too in the winter there. I have had some success in the past on spoons under bait balls that I located on 2d sonar.
Yeah I've seen them schooled under bait balls there on my down facing, but I really need a course on spoon fishing because I don't honestly ...

Top to Bottom 12/10
Picked up 9 total at the Murr yesterday. It was great seeing Dfishin out there too!
I got on the water at around 8'30 and was off by noon. The day started with busters on the top. I picked up 4 on a small Gunfish. After surface action slowed I switched to a Griffon MR-X, and picked up 3 more. I ...

Re: 12-29-25 - Christmas comes a few days late!
El Cap seems to provide a lot of people's PBs. Mine was a 9.8 over 20 years ago. Much to the chagrin of the guys in bass boats fishing in a big tournament that day. What with me fishing in my old float tube haha.

Building back up…
Over the last week or so, I’ve been mentally prepping for some more freshwater fishing. I spent most of the summer in the salt, and after a few months away from my local ponds my confidence was really lacking. I also had a tough time justifying the extra drive time to hit freshwater when I had the ...
