Re: 10/8 Murray...oh yeah!
Looks huge in that pic! I would have used a wide angle lens and held it even closer. LOL
That's a 10 pounder next spring. Way to go!!
The lower jaw on that fish makes it look even bigger!
After that first jump, I kept thinking this fish
is gonna be 8 or 9 pounds easily after seeing it

San V Thu 10/9
Finally got the ok to go back out in the sun as long as I had sun coverage and sunscreen. Followed Drs orders and headed out to San V today with sunscreen, a sun gaiter and hat.

Re: Trinity Lake
Took a 2,500 mile road trip pulling the trailer to the Castcade Mountains and everywhere in-between. Had a chance to Bass fish Trinity Lake and Clear Lake. We pumped up the Sea Eagle and got out for a few hours.
My Son and I had 3.5 hours of clone fishing on Smallies and Spots.
Here are a few ...

Murray 10/9
Had a pretty good day at Murray finally. I got tired of 4-5 fish days, so I decided to go back to the BFS basics that I know work day in and day out. Final count was 18 all in the 1-2 pound range (as Vinny would call them, clones), so definitely a quantity over quality day. Still they were all ...

More from O'Neill...
Well the last two mornings have really been a blast. Yesterday I got 16 in 4 hours starting with a couple top water fish...nothing huge, but a few 3s...
But today...I only fished for 3 hours, from 6:15 to 9:15 and it was epic. Had probably 15 blowups on the whopper plopper and landed 7 and then 5 ...

Re: Back of cap
Great seeing you at the ramp. I ended up landing 9 and losing a bunch more including one giant that straightened the hook on my jig. And yes it was a bass not a cat. I lost it on the jump. Video coming soon.

10/21- SD River
Haven't posted anything since my 7.25lb bass few weeks ago at Murray(Didn't want to bore you guys as just landing mostly dinks anyway), but here is just a quick post from the SD River.
Got just 3 bites this morning on a quick session at the river and landed 2 bass.
Not big by any means but still ...

Murray 10/22
Got on the lake at 8:30 and off by 1. It was a pretty good BFS day at the Murr. 7 fish all in the two pound range and the biggest going 3.52 lbs.
Early in the day I had some success pitching to the shore. At about mid morning they migrated out between 10-20 feet of water.
I'll share the hot bait ...

Re: Morena Anyone?
I live here, it's a mess. Not only are they draining it again they don't even care to do it correctly. They have been draining it too quickly not giving the fish a chance to acclimate so the die off is huge. They have stirred up the lake causing an algae bloom and since the lake has no aeration it ...

Oct.23-Murray
Wasn't going to post anything as it was pretty darn slow this morning, but Mcfish asked
me if the bass were still jumping? The answer is NO, as I did not see a single fish jump.
Worked the usual baits and was only able to pick up 5 small bass on plastic worms. The highlight on the day was chatting ...

Re: 10/21- SD River
So are there Northern or Floridas in the SD river?
I am not really sure. Guessing Northern bass? When they released tons of water from El Cap the other year, if some of those are Florida bass, there mustt of been some that made it into Lakeside then Santee and then into the SD River. Anyone else ...

Re: El Capitan 10/24
Like Dan said, great day to be on the water.
It was nice unloading the tube and launching without all those damn green bugs pestering you.
Planned on heading towards the back of the lake, but hit a couple points on the way. No luck on the buzz, so switched to the Karashi and got a 3 pounder first ...

Local pond always a confidence builder
Best one in a while...and it was an adventure.
Bit of a long story, but I have to share.
So hooked this girl on the far side of the small opening and the fight was on...she even jumped a couple times and then...she got tangled in a patch of tulles and was completely stuck. What to do? Tried all ...

El Cap Oct 28 report
Had a couple nice days lately at El Cap. Air in the early morning is cool/cold, but the water temp is still upper 60s F. Poked around along the shore and picked up a few nice fish with the usual suspects for me, a popper, a floating Rapala and a little swim jig I have been playing with. Wind hasn't ...
