Had a really fun 18 fish day at The Captain today, but I had to go old school to get them.
Started off on top with 2 on the Gunfish. Then I switched to a jig and got a couple more. Then the bite just stopped, so I tied on a pegged Texas rigged Trick worm and evidently that's what they wanted!

Frankenstein bait at El Cap 8/15
Much like earlier in the week I caught a couple of topwater early and 1 jig fish. After that the only thing that seemed to get their attention was a worm. So I T-rigged it and caught 6 or 7 that way but over half of them choked it, necessitating surgery. This is the primary reason I find of stopped ...

El Cap 8/16
Finally got back out on the water again ( I really hate you guys that get to fish so often! 😝). Lake was packed! Had to have been at least one club tournament if not two going on.

Re: El Cap 8/16
Glad you finally got out! Frogging is a hoot. If you found a Lucky Craft Gunfish... you're welcome! A big one broke me off last week there.

Otay 8/17
Had a bit of a rough one at Otay yesterday. Got out as soon as it opened and fished till noon with only 6 dinks to show for it. I tried multiple baits in every part of the water column and just couldn't find any willing participants. I didn't even bother with pictures.

Re: 8/21-Murray "Oh YEAH!"
Nice Bucket Mouth! Looks bigger than 7 in the pics. WTG!!
Well pics can make a bass look bigger but being honest about the weight of the bass is what I feel is most important. I just rather be honest about the weight of a bass no matter what the pic looks like, then to BS that a bass is bigger ...

8/25 SD River/Quick Session/Shore
Did a quick session down at the SD River from shore. Took 2 rods and just some light tackle. Arrived around 7am, despite saying to myself that I was going to be there early. I got only 4 bites and landed the 4 bass using a fluke and plastic worms. Nothing real big but still had fun time as the bass ...

Tough couple of days but...
I fished Saturday at El Capitan in my new float tube. It's pretty amazing on the water. Fastest I've ever seen because of it's design. I was worried that it might get really hot being black, but honestly, I really didn't notice any difference over my other tube on the water. I was so anxious to get ...

9/3 Murray
It was a nice morning. Then the sun decided come on on high heat. Busters were everywhere you looked. Which way to go, I went that way. The fishing was interesting. I could get them on the swirl but the bait I was using, I couldn't cast it very far. I got a couple dragging the bottom. I was moving ...

9/5-SD River- "Oh yeah.. Again!"
Flipped a coin and just decided to just take a couple rods down to the SD River for a a short shore section before the heat arrives. A tiny bit cooler with a little early cloud cover, but knew that was not going to last.

Re: 9/5-SD River- "Oh yeah.. Again!"
Beast of a 7 pounder right there. Looks bigger, again. I was picturing a tarpon or marlin jumping with you were describing the 4 pounder jumping.
Way to go!
I think a lot of the bass down there have never been caught or have only been caught once or so because they fight like crazy after being ...

Headed back to the river for a little dirty water fishing as one day I expect to catch a 3-eyed bass similar to the one that aired on a Simpsons episode...ha ha

Murray jiggin' 9/16
Had another pretty good day at Murray jigging the edge of the tules. I got there a little late for most of the busters. Total count was 8. On the water by 8:30 and off by 12. I'll share the bait in the BFS section.

El Cap 9/21
Decided to get in a short evening el cap session after watching football for the day and managed to land 3. A little rain, but got two on the drop shot and one hit the top water. He hit it under a boat wake so didn’t see a blow up haha. Shoutout MrEastside619 from YouTube too. Saw him fishing the ...

10/8 Murray...oh yeah!
Hit Murray with my buddy Joe this morning. The surface was basically dead as did not see any busters so it was soon worm time. Using a variety of worms, creature baits, flukes. etc., we picked up some clones here as there as it was a little later morning bite. Missed a few bites comes along with the ...

Re: 10/6 El Cap
Depends on the motor, what you are pushing and wind. I myself don't think I would try it, just from what I tracked on Monday. I went just over 3 1/2 miles and had 56% of my battery left. That is also using the motor to stay in a spots and chasing busters. Looking on google maps it's at least 3 1/2 ...
