Re: FFS/ LiveScope/ Activetarget Yes, No, Maybe So?

For me, the fun in bass fishing, or fishing in general, is figuring out the bite. Some days I can do it, some days the bass win. To me, that is the best part of fishing. Trying to figure out the puzzle each time on the water.

While I understand FFS is viewed by many as just another tool. To me it ...

El Cap 5/17 she’s still kickin’

Got out in the water about 6:30 and there were about 5 trailers in the lot. Word must have gotten out that the lake was still launchable because by about 9:00 there were boats on almost every bit of exposed rock on the lake!

Caught 10 today. Biggest was just over 3lbs and best five probably went ...

Re: El Cap 5/17 she’s still kickin’

Too bad the water is not going right into Murray to the water level so I could pitch Tokyo rigs into tulles like I used to years ago. That’s not happening because they can’t raise the water over a certain level now at Murray so it’ll never be like it was about three years ago. Anyway, nice seeing a ...

Re: 5/19-Return to Murray

Nice job Vinny I will b throwing a craw haven’t got bit on it last week 🎣👍

It’s kind of a hit or miss with craw baits, but I’ve caught many healthier bass over those years on them and creature baits. It seems they work best when you toss them over rocky areas or areas with structure. At Murray ...

Re: FFS/ LiveScope/ Activetarget Yes, No, Maybe So?

I just don't want to hear anymore, " just because you can see them, doesn't mean they'll bite"...yes, but it gives you a 99% advantage over the guy throwing to dead water! I've fished next to people with FFS in deep water and it was definitely an advantage for them...and myself, just knowing there ...

Wasn't gonna post but ...

After some quality bigger fish yesterday it was back to clones at Murray today. I actually wasn't going to post, but I just had to share a picture of this pretty clone I caught. The picture doesn't really do it justice. It had the most beautiful golden almost orange tone to it. Very dark and vivid ...

Murray 5/23

Rad day at Murray. I stopped counting at 30 fish. Lots of bass in the high 2 pound range and 3 fish over 3 pounds. Also caught the biggest bluegill I've ever seen. Fat as hell. It's mouth was big enough for my scale and it weighed in at 2.54 lbs.

So much fun, it almost makes me regret leaving on ...

It's a party!

It's always a fun time when you've got Vinnybass and Fisheromen on the lake with you! DK was in my wheelhouse today! I mixed it up today throwing various plastics and picked up 31 fish, mostly the clone variety...but fun, fun, fun! Mr. Vinny always inspires me to throw different baits, since he is ...

El Cap 5/25

Had a really fun day today out there. Not many boats and the fish are chewing! It’s really sad that it’s going to be shut down soon!

Put 14 bass and an ambitious bluegill in the boat today. All but one on power fishing techniques. Finally got my first Neko Rig fish which was nice.

Gunfish ...

5/27- SD River

Talked to a buddy last night and he said the fishing at the river sucks lately, but stubborn me wanted to give it a try. Arrived kind of late morning and did not see one other fishermen. After 2 3/4 hours of not one bite, I can see why. Tried everything from jerk to crank baits, then even to ...

Surprise catch at the Murr 5/27

Had a great 28 fish day today at the Murr. Almost all fish came courtesy of a BFS crankbait. Most of the bass were healthy in the 2+ pound range with 2 of them over 3 lbs.

However the biggest surprise of the day was a nice slab crappie. I fish Murray an average of 3 days per week for the last 3 ...

Bank fishing for bass

Hello SDFish,

I've seen many helpful comments on this forum but I figured I'd also ask myself: which local lake(s) would you recommend for bank fishing? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Bank fishing for bass

Lake, Jennings and Lake Poway are two SD County lakes that come to mind and have lots of shoreline you could access for bass fishing.
The obvious lake that I would suggest would be Lake Murray as it has also lots of shoreline for bass fishing. It probably is the easiest to fish from shore. Also all ...

KillinTime wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 1:07 pm Thanks for sharing. From all that freshly exposed green moss on the rocks in your photo, it looks like they must of recently drawn down Cap a bit more.
Nice fish!
Not sure did seem like still dropping yeah but slowly it’s sickening honestly about all structure out of water
