Folks, I do apologize for being at least partially responsible for this forced upgrade from .com to .org by my postings in the old Lounge since I never had something meaningful to brag for and post on other forums. Having said this, I may only rarely post here but I'll strictly follow the rules ...

Why does everyone seem to think there was some nefarious reason the old site closed?


Lots of nefarious reasons could abound, but not what people seem to be inferring. Lots of ways the old site could have kept going, but the guy that owned it obviously didn't care enough to be involved ...

I may be just missing how we do it here, but sometimes it would be nice to call another member's attention to a post by addressing them "@admin" for example.

Maybe it should be based on the number of thanks not on the number of posts. Quality over quantity. Or a dual ranking system.

As we start the new year, it is nice to see the site being a lot more positive and more fishing oriented than the old sdfish.com.

I think adding some fishing articles on lakes, bays and species like the old site had would be a plus though and bring in more visitors, such as at https://web.archive ...

I'm thinking about doing with Wordpress which should be fairly easy to implement. As far as writing articles and editing submissions that could be time consuming and may only be done with community effort.


Ideally all site admin would have to do is format submissions as needed to fit the page ...

That had to be the world record or spam posts in the last 24 hours. My little typing fingers got worn out reporting them. There must have been close to 200 hundred of them, certainly over 150.

Hey guys, I was the one that requested BFS be added as a forum topic. Thanks admins and thanks to @VinnyBass for facilitating the topic add! I figured this would be a great place to share our rigs/setups, gear, baits and techniques. I look forward to seeing what you all are using.
