No clips for the win this morning at Harbor Island. 3 Barracuda and 1 Mackerel within an hour. It pays off to be patient.

Im looking for some advice on what lb test of fluorocarbon leader I should be using when using 15lb or 25lb braided line.
Does it really matter if it’s 100% Fluro ?

I’m looking for some incite on how to set up a live bait rig to use at the bays, jetties, piers, ect. I have never tried it, so any recommendations and tips would be great.

Recently I have been looking into wind direction and how it can affect the fish. I’m still lost on the subject but does anyone have any in-site to what wind direction is best for fishing ?

I can’t speak for others but I have not had any luck with SMB even when the conditions are right. Is this place just extremely hit or miss ? Or is it just the basic layout that makes it not so appealing for decent fishing? To me is just seems flat all around.

I’m looking for direction in regards to planning fishing trips for SD Bay and Mission Bay. From the material that I read both bays fish differently.

What are the best times and tides for these bays? What’s the best way to fish them ?

I’m having a difficult time keeping my swim bait in line. I don’t know what the issue is but it swims at an angel or upside down.

Any suggestions ?

I have seen lots of YouTube videos of guys using white buck tails in the surf but most of them are out in Texas or Florida. Has anyone used them for SoCal surf fishing ?

Besides the normal Lucky Crafts and Kastmasters are there any other lures worth trying for SoCal ?
