Re: Vail Lake
Vail was a fun lake, kind of like fishing Lake Morena in the old days...another lake screwed up now!

Re: Lake Poway?
When the spawn is on, there is plenty of opportunities to snag big fish in clear waters like Jennings for example. I believe most people just don’t do it for ethical reasons… plus people don’t have much to gain ($$$) by doing it and if they are endorsed, they have so much to loose by getting caught ...

Re: Smallmouth spots
Lake cuyamaca supposedly was stocked with sone but I’ve never caught or seen one caught. Best bet is down in the desert. Lots of water every where you turn and most bass you catch down there are small mouth. A lot of smaller ones but there are some pigs down there.

Re: Lake Poway?
I don’t think it’s that easy, there would be a long line if it were.
If snagging 18lbers were easy wouldn’t there be a crowd.
Come on, why turn on your partner. Then close your forum and hide.
It’s gives people something to talk about, because there not catching big fish.
I haven’t seen a 15lber ...

Well, you probably already guessed.... as it is no surprise that I fished Lake Murray this morning. It is just so close to my house and
heck...why not! Started pretty slow as I searched all over for balls of shad in deeper water in between tossing topwater baits towards
some breakers but no hook ...

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH
Here to say the fish was neither weighed nor measured at the time of the catch. How the weight estimate came about was the photo of Theo holding the fish compared to his torso, roughly his shoulders to his knees, which his dad measured at 27”. At least one Northern chart out there says 11.95lbs ...

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH
Just hard to tell with distance away from the body and angle of pic, those two factors alone can make a small fish look big and a big fish look giant. If you notice, a lot of bill Murphy’s and other’s giants were photographed from ground or low level looking up. Gives a huge perspective of a fish ...

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH
First of all...Great catch Theo!
I agree with camobass about how a camera plays a big role on making a small fish look big and a big fish look huge. The angles and distance away from the body a fish is and closer the camera is makes a lot of fish look a lot bigger than they are. Not trying to take ...

Re: anglers need to hear and understand this...
I definitely believe harvest is a factor. Take tweakers for instance. Modern day tweakers aren’t into fishing like the old school guys. Back in the day, there were a lot of guys smoking the pipa and taking out over limits all over Sd at night…Back in the day for some odd reason, there were a lot ...

Re: Bass Council Top 6 at El Cap (bad look)
I’m one of those guys that don’t like tournaments or tournament fisherman. Sorry. Well, not sorry… I’ve only ever done ones at night, not for the tournament aspect, just to be able to fish a normally closed at night lake in a boat. The stereotype seems to fit 90%.
If you wanna see that stereotype ...

Re: Bass Council Top 6 at El Cap (bad look)
So the tournament didn't have someone on site to fizz bass released in the tournament? That violates the conditions of their permit. Do you have photos or video of this incident? I can rectify this problem real quick...

Re: Bass Council Top 6 at El Cap (bad look)
Obviously all you bleeding hearts were so busy crying over the couple floaters and trying to save them, you missed the fact there was a DFW agent on site long before the teams ever made it back to the dock. Ethics and morals aside, I have to say it’s sort of ironic that we’ve recently been ...

Otay 12/22
5 bass today at Otay. 4 of them were 1.5 to 3 lb clones and the largest went 5.4 lbs. All of them were on a chatterbait. I went to Otay arm to try hover strolling but there was really nothing going on there. None of the boats, yaks, or tubes reporting much success so I started working deeper ...

Martinez Lake report( video)
Every year I make a trip out to the River to night fish the lagoon at night now that I don't have a boat. Its been a fun tradition I have had going for awhile now. The river saw a tournament with around 100 boats put a hurtin on em Friday and Sat. Over the night on Friday, the river went down around ...
