Re: Otay 10/12
The wise old Doc on Hee Haw used to say "Don't DO that!" I fell a couple weeks ago, myself! Don't recommend it!

El Cap Oct 28 report
Had a couple nice days lately at El Cap. Air in the early morning is cool/cold, but the water temp is still upper 60s F. Poked around along the shore and picked up a few nice fish with the usual suspects for me, a popper, a floating Rapala and a little swim jig I have been playing with. Wind hasn't ...

Dec.15-Return to River…oh yeah!
Back for another quick river session as I decided to try something different after catching nothing but dinks over at Murray. I mean I have worked hard and only been ending up with small bass. Anyway....after tons of casts into the green strained water of the SD River and time flying by, I finally ...

12-29-25 - Christmas comes a few days late!
Hey all. Been awhile since I posted a report and today provided the perfect occasion.
Woke up a bit later than I planned. Was concerned about the wind advisory but the forecast said 5-10MPH so I said F it and decided to go join Pourboy at El Cap.
It was cold as a witches teat when I launched ...

Re: 1-15 Miramar/Swimbaits/Fail...and cheating?
I have mostly been fishing the bay but may try Miramar soon. I will certainly have my usual drop shot for bass but will also have subtle action minnow like lures with light jig heads i.e. I-motion, "do nothing", Ned rig, hover rig, etcetera. The Z-man StreakZ or Assassin could be fished that way too ...

3/13- Lake Miramar
I thought about driving all the way up to the Lake of D & K, but instead made a closer run up to Lake Miramar. Decided to just take my small 10' '5" kayak that has no electronics on it and also meant I could not take a lot of gear with me so I just loaded some worms and some creature type baits, a ...

Back to Cap 3/27
Didn't lose time this time. So the aliens were busy else where. My first stop no topwater, but started getting them on a short leader dropshot and senko. The spots i hit on Tuesday did not pay off as there mouths were sore. Had to find new areas, where they would bite and that is not a problem right ...

Re: Fishers Lagoon/ Night Fishing the river/ Video
Our annual trip we take every March. Unusually warm this year. So much that we abandoned the idea of camping.Spring break partying in full go. As far as the fishing....man it was rough. I only managed 3...wife had 3... nephew had 1 and one monster caught released at the dock and that was it. All ...

Best after work session ever!
Quick trip after a 10 hour work day, got to O'Neill about 5 o'clock. Tried a swim jig and then a football head with a big crawdad tail...nothing. Then went to the black 5 inch senko and everywhere I put it was a bass! Total was 18 in under 2 hours with 2 at 4 lbs and 2 just over 5! Did break off a ...

4/14- SD River gives & takes
Made a late morning trip to the SD River. Did the usual things as I tossed reaction baits first. Tried about 5 different types of baits and then while tossing a mini-A rig, a nice bass slammed into it which was fun. I later missed a bass bite deep in the cover with a creature bait. Then the real ...

4/30- Murray..."Oh yeah"
Seems like ages since I been out in my boat so I decided to make the short trip to Murray this morning. Weather was a little cooler and it was refreshing. Mcfish says I need to keep things short so I will try but no promises. Fished in deep water only and had 3 bass come unbuttoned on the jump ...

Re: 5/6-What the heck...
Or just go with it, it’s only fishing. On most of my local trips, I travel with 1 rod and a Ziplock with a few jigs and a Topwater. So simple and easy. After over 40 years of carrying 300 pounds of every tool ever made, plus all the custom ones I created for every contingency, I value ease and ...
