Re: Double Digit Bass! 2 Bites, 2 Big fish

So just FYI, I took down the video from Youtube. I didn't realize at the time or when I posted that there are no longer boats allowed in Hidden Bay. It hasn't always been like that and the sign is in the middle of the bay and I was so focused on looking for fish I didn't see it. I am a rule follower ...

Re: Double Digit Bass! 2 Bites, 2 Big fish

Nice fish. My guess is the sign was put there to address the crowding during trout season. 20 guys in a tiny cove all throwing mini jigs at the same fish, then one guy in a boat parks there and screws it up for them. I gave up trout fishing a decade ago, I don’t want to compete against mini ...

End of the work week...

Quick stop on the way home from work and no skunk...that is all that matters. Lot of younger fisherman working the gigantic glide baits and trout looking swimbaits...but I was mostly working old faithful...the weightless Texas plastic worm...seems like it works...

El Cap 4/8

Nice day at The Captain. I only had about 3 hours to fish but with Murray closed I decided on a quick trip to El Cap.

I didn't get on the water till after 9 and picked up a few drinks and clones casting a jig to rocky bank areas. It started pretty slow, but I finally found a pattern. The larger ...

The Dragon

https://i.ibb.co/PzPvk5yC/20250405-063747.jpg

This past weekend, I linked up with Phantom and El Japo for a kamikaze trip up to Lake Nacimiento — and as usual, what a trip it turned out to be.

We hit the road from Los Angeles at 10 PM, which already felt like a throwback to those reckless road ...

El cap( video) bank fishing

Myself, a friend and a few family members hit El cap for about 4 hours this morning. Crazy how down the lake is. Managed a few quality fish on various robo worm combo's. My nephew and his girl gave up on the bass and had no trouble finding the bluegill. Not a slammer by any means but a nice day out ...

March was good

Here's a few fish from the Santee Lakes in March. They were chewing the trick worm all spring. I'm taking a little break while all the bed fisherman take over the lakes.

Those are some nice chunks! Good to see them thriving in the city.

Exactly! Hardly new how to maneuver my tube! Got blown into the tulles and almost couldn't get out! Ended up dragging my tube out and walked back to my car carrying all my gear! Good memory, Dave!

Hodges 4/19

Met the homie Early release at Hodges this morning for a little bassin. Was the first one at the gate around 4:50am. I have taken three trips prior to today to Hodges in 2025 and had nary a fish between them. The day started with a spinnerbait snagged and lost and no bites to be found on my ...

Hodges report April 19

Hello all,

Decent day at Hodges today. Got in line at 515, didn't need to. They opened around 600. Met Corso Enthusiast and we headed out. Air was chilly at about 45-50 F, but the water was a balmy 64 F. Went along the usual chase to the right and banged around the shore. First fish was around 645 ...

Re: Otay madness 4/16

Thought I might see you as I got on the water for the third time. Mentioned it to my Backseater that I’ve run across you the last two times I launched as you left. Anyway, couldn’t get the jerk bait working, but the top water was just fine. It seems every other week it switches Frogs and Buzz ...

El Capitan 4/19

Managed to pull 8 fatties out of The Captain today on BFS gear. Nothing under 2 and nothing over 3, but they were feisty.

I'll post a breakdown of baits I used in the BFS section for you other finesse guys if you are interested.

Cap on Friday 4/18

Well, we decided to get the boat wet again. Wanted to go to Cap at least one more time before the water is too low to launch. Per SD Lakes website, we are 4.5 feet from no launch. They report levels once a week, so I am sure it's closer to no launch that that. The lake is about 4-5 feet lower that ...

Otay 4/20

I only had about 3 hours to fish, but I'm camped so close to Otay I didn't want to miss the opportunity. Hey, it's better than couch surfing for my mental health haha.

I got on the water at 7am and decided it felt like a treble hook kind of day. I ended up with 5 jerkbait fish and 1 worm fish. All ...
