Agua Hedionda Lagoon Filled With Vegetation
I went to Agua Hedionda Lagoon and maybe 20% of my casts did not come back with seaweed or seagrass covering the rig. Same thing last night. No bites. I saw a few opaleye and one 10-12" bass caught. All on bait. Some people casting lures left after a few casts when they realized it was useless ...

Re: North County trips.
In a half hour at guard tower 36 in Carlsbad I caught a surf perch and my first corbina on a brown paddle tail grub. This was a receding low tide. I used a hybrid Carolina/Texas rig with the Carolina rig setup and the hook Texas style. It made it through the large quantity of vegetation.

Re: Agua Hedionda Lagoon Filled With Vegetation

Re: North County trips.
I fished Carlsbad near lifeguard tower 36 around high tide. There was one other angler there. He was using what looked like a camo sandworm. I didn't see him catch anything. I was using a 1" red with blue flake curly tail grub and caught one BSP. I had another pull the hook off because I neglected ...

Agua Hedionda Lagoon 11-26-25
I got there around 3PM which was mid tide. I used a Carolina rig with 1" curly tail grub. 6 calico bass (no keepers) on pumpkin red flake and 1 (not a keeper) on translucent yellow with red flake. 1 opaleye on tan with black and light blue flake. Saw no one else catch anything. Lots of weeds but ...
