Re: Open lakes for fishing
Hi, go here https://www.sandiego.gov/reservoirs-lakes and then you can see the days for those lakes. However, be advised that Hodges is closed on the third Wednesday of the month and they haven't updated the website.

Re: Badly kept secret!
I think all the crappie fishermen scared them off….ha ha.
Yeah, the cold water(and lack of water)and all the points and areas that were high and dry now did not help make
the fishing easier. It was strange having so many people fishing, especially in the middle of the lake, but I think it was ...

3/21-Lake Poway Exploratory trip
Took off to Lake Poway mostly on an exploratory mission and to get a few hours of fishing in from shore. I had not been up to Lake
Poway for a very long time and figured I would go take a look. I did expect a few trout fishermen but never expected so many of
them on a Thursday morning. It was ...

Murray 11/29
I fished Murray yesterday for Bass and it was a slog. Five hours to drum up a few dinks. I had so much fun at Otay last weekend I decided to go back to Murray today with ultralight gear and hooked up with a mess of really nice fat Bluegills.
I am really getting hooked on ultralight fishing.

Re: squid
They look like Afro hair on the meter on the bottom. Cruise around mission beach looking for the beds. Most likely, you won’t be the only boat on them. Sabiki rigs work better than squid rigs imo for the market size squid.

Corbina are still around
Howdy folks. I haven't been fishing much, but have a a few recent opportunities to visit the beach. The water is colder, but I still saw some beans in the surf. My wife got a new job at Scripps. Today they gave her a tour of the pier, and she sent me a picture of this huge school.

Re: Epoxy powder clearcoat question...
Have not done jigs etc . for long term brilliance . I do have bullets of the same alloy we traded for a few years back Wheel weight and lino type that have been in storage for over 30 years and still as bright as the day they were cast . I have noted that the sinkers I cast from the same alloy will ...

Free reels
Passing these along, these have zero issues, can't remember if this is a Penn 704 or 706. Also have a decent spinning rod I can pair with it. The Lochmor has some fly line, probably a WF 7wt Aircel. Can't remember what was on the Okuma. Perfect if you are just starting out or have kids and want them ...
