Re: TP Feeding Frenzy 12/27/23 ???

@blackcloud9 always delivering.

Re: TP Feeding Frenzy 12/27/23 ???

Could just be a lot of baitfish. In 2005 there were anchovies and sardines that were so thick I saw them all summer long from shore...saw them every time I fished from IB to Oceanside.
If the same thing was happening now it would explain the birds...and maybe the whole dolphin-orca thing.

Re: Mission Bay 6/21

:shock: ok good, at least I know it wasn’t “just me.” That was bananas out there.

The inshore buoys were showing 6 to 7 feet this morning. Probably the biggest surf we'll see until October. The beaches fish better when the buoys are reading below 3'.

Murray 'Gills

Fishing for bigger bluegills has been decent at Murray lately. A few on topwater but mostly on weighted flies, generally cast into deeper water. For reference, distance between end cap on butt end of reel seat and the front edge of the grip is 11". Rod is a 3wt 7 footer fiberglass custom built for ...

Re: Murray 'Gills

I love my 3 Wt. Makes small fish big and big fish huge! I landed an 8 pound Brook Trout on it at Irvine Lake on a Black Woolley Bugger.. That particular Stock also contained Brown Trout to 10 pounds. It took all I had to get that bushy fly out there with that little 7 foot rod. I couldn’t land the ...

First Bean(?)

SD Bay was good Sunday (7/16) morning. Caught (what I think) was my first bean on the fly rod (yes, it's small). I thought corvina's mouths were more bottom oriented, but made this one's a juvenile? It had little barbels on its chin like a catfish. Can anyone confirm?

Spotties made a decent showing ...
