Re: Calico Bass along the reefs
Hali has been biting indeed. I was fishing LJ the other day and saw a guy landing 4 halis using swimbait. I was using shrimps so no hali for me. Caught 2 calicos though.

Re: Calico Bass along the reefs
blackcloud9 Not really into the perch thing, just got that handle from 2 buds since I would somehow always get a perch during those skunk sessions. Crappie looks fun, a cousin gets bunches at Naciemento from his boat. I'm too old to get into the kayak thing or I would. Same for rock hopping jettys ...

Re: Calico Bass along the reefs
I'd say you had a great June. Nicely done for sure & congrats.

Re: TP Feeding Frenzy 12/27/23 ???
Could just be a lot of baitfish. In 2005 there were anchovies and sardines that were so thick I saw them all summer long from shore...saw them every time I fished from IB to Oceanside.
If the same thing was happening now it would explain the birds...and maybe the whole dolphin-orca thing.

Re: Mission Bay 6/21
 ok good, at least I know it wasn’t “just me.” That was bananas out there.
The inshore buoys were showing 6 to 7 feet this morning. Probably the biggest surf we'll see until October. The beaches fish better when the buoys are reading below 3'.
