Decided to give the cap a try haven't been in a while. The water is lower and about foot visibility 56 in the am.
Went to a couple of spots no love so I new I had to start from scratch. I had caught a couple little guys throwing the everything. Then around noon, yes noon I started getting them. I ...

Late report from Sat 3/15 San V

Deja vu all over again!

Headed out after our set of storms not quite sure what to expect but found several willing little bucks fairly early. Had a steady pick of 2lb clones throughout the day.

The day was almost literally a repeat of last weeks trip. I ended with 18 again. Best five were just ...

Re: El Cap 3/17: Quality over quantity..

I’d settle for those fish over a bunch of clones.
Thanks for the report, there hasn’t been many good posts lately.
I’ve been setting up my tackle for the last two weeks, I think I’m ready just need my friend with a boat to get into it.
Thanks for the great post.

Best Murray day so far this year!

Monday and Tuesday at Murray were pretty blah. A couple of clones each day, and I had to work hard to get 'em. That changed in a big way today.

I got on the water at 8 am, and decided to head to Alvarado Bay. Deep in the cove the bass were going ape $hit chasing giant schools of shad, and busting ...

From Murray to Hodges 8/22 and 8/23

Went to Otay early on Saturday morning and there were like 100 boats lined up to enter. Some kinda tournament evidently. Since I didn't relish spending the day in a washing machine with bass boats zipping to and fro, so I pivoted and went to Murray instead. I mean I was already up and dressed for ...

Re: From Murray to Hodges 8/22 and 8/23

It was a fun day at Hodges and it is truly remarkable what a great group of people and knowledgable anglers they really are. Nice fishing with you Dan for the first time and I believe I may stock up on those skirted neds.

3/24 Live by the Sword, Die by the.....

Despite a pretty dang good fishing trip to Murray recently, the bass this morning put on the brakes or should I say slammed on the brakes. I stubbornly stuck to using all sorts of reaction baits and the bass just were not cooperating. It reminded me of that old saying.... "Live by the sword, die by ...

My newish bait @ Otay 3/26

I woke up early this morning with plans on fishing Otay. I poked my head outside, and it was wet and cold, so I almost wimped out.

I'm glad I sucked it up though, because I ended up with a 26 fish day! Granted, most were clones and a few drinks, but catching numerous fish on consecutive casts is ...

Very nice!
BFS is a challenging way to fish anyway, but fishing tules with BFS takes a lot of finesse and a bit of luck to get them out.

For the second trip in a row @otaymichael was getting on the water as I was leaving. How'd you do Mike? How was the afternoon bite? Inquiring minds want to know.

El Cap 3/28 And

I was up early ready to go until I looked outside and it was raining. Well I sat down drinking my coffee as I was not in the mood to get wet today. The weather cleared up a bit around 7 so off I went. I headed to the spot that did me well last time, but it was not it today. I landed 2 there and ...

Double Digit Bass! 2 Bites, 2 Big fish

Hey all,
It was a fun day at Lake Poway. I only fished for a couple of hours and only got 2 bites. Fortunately, the fish were 10.22lbs and 7.52lbs! So. Much. Fun! It's been a few years since I got a DD and the feeling never gets old. Both were bed fish that I caught on jigs. I have a feeling this ...
