Of course, I will be doing something on top, or just below the surface to about 3 feet deep. Between us, we have the whole water column covered.JWall wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2024 3:49 pm Its creature city for me tomorrow at El Cap. Jig n craw, fat ika, and a new one, a Yamatanuki.

Murray report 3/28
Most of you know I fish Murray 3-4 days per week. I am retired and I go there after dropping the kids off at school. I fish until it's time to pick them up and head home.
I've been averaging 7 fish per day almost exclusively BFS fishing. The most productive bait has been a tiny green pumpkin Brush ...

Chris
Great video once again you are a great story teller and I believe your videos will now get the recognition they deserve!
It's just a unique angle that you present makes you feel like your right there catching a fish or drinking a tasty beverage!
Now we just need a float tube guy that has a ...

El Cap 3-29 Report
Note to self…DON’T STAY IN A PLACE THEY’RE NOT BITING!! We started out on a crisp and cold day along the stretch I’ve been hitting and catching for over a year. And why not? Dave got us started as usual with his magic mini jerkbaits and had me down 3-0 before I decided to join in. I swear he wills ...

Some fun on the home lake!
I got to the lake a little before sunrise, under cloudy, chilly conditions. There's still alot of water coming into the lake from the major creeks still, keeping the water temp kind of frosty feeling! I started the day throwing a small jerkbait and quickly hooked up with a couple size challenged ...

San V 3/30 Father/ son outing
My son came into town for the Easter weekend so we headed out into a rainy morning to see what we could find. Only three boats out there that I know of.
Headed to the scene of the crime of my last trip, Barona of course. Started the day out with a solid 3.7 on my third cast with a Senko. Picked up ...

Re: El Cap 3-29 Report
Also - there’s a pair of bald eagles nesting in the trees just east of the dam. My last trip prior to today we heard a loud “CRACK” and we looked back to see an Eagle flying with branches in his talons, they were building their nest. Today one of them was circling the area looking for floaters ...

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6
Tubing is its own thing, and it sort of lends itself to slowing down/finesse fishing for the most part. You can’t cover a lot of water, being low in the water makes using many baits and even longer rods hard to fish. I’ve only had round tubes since I was a kid. Always adjusting myself in the seat. I ...

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6
I had others plans and errands to run and wish I could have fished today, but when you told me you and your brother would
be out with your new tubes at Murray, I just had to stop by the lake. It was great to see you out there and I have never fished
out of one, but you guys looked comfortable like ...

Very nice, tubing is a fun experience. Keep at it and then think about heading to the big bay...salt is a whole other (fun) animal.

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6
I had a feeling your back rest would interfere with that pipe. That cross over pipe isn’t necessary. You can go to ababa bolt in El Cajon and get jumbo thick zip ties to connect the upper part if you rod holder to the large d rings and then run some tuna or para cord from the bottom of the holder ...

4/8-You guessed it....Murray
Just for today..... I am going to save you guys from reading me babbling on and on.
So here are a few pics of some fish I caught in (McFish will be shocked again) water depths
around 25-35 feet of water.
Hopefully the warmer weather will spur up more action in closer. Tight lines :-)

Fishing and exercise...... I think that is a win win?
Tubs are very stealthy and keep you on the spot in the wind. No need for spot lock. Unless you fish Hodges in the rain. You all know who we are talking about=)

Re: Catch & Release and Harvesting During the Spawn
I would like to jump in on this and offer a little info.
I talked to the guys that do the population studies at the lakes. They shock at night when the bass have moved into the shallower water from spending their day in the deep water. The bass float, they scoop, measure, weigh and then release the ...
