Feels like spring is on the horizon.. I spent both days this weekend at El Cap. Chatted with Early release on Friday and he mentioned that he and Pourboy were heading to Cap Sunday morning. I was already tentatively planning a trip there Saturday so I'd get a chance to scout a bit.

After having been focused on El Cap the last couple of weekends, I decided to hit Otay this morning despite the algae warnings. Yep. Don’t think I caught a fish in deeper than 3’ of water

I had the same deal at Cap Monday evening. Got one clone sized male about 3:55pm and not a bite after that. Was happy not to get the skunk but I expected 3 days before a full moon with the storm on the way they’d be chewing. They weren’t in the part of the lake I was fishing.

It was a tough day, we spent the majority of it watching fish not eat our baits, but the ones that did eat for us were quality.

Hodges wasn't great fishing for me, I took the skunk, but I had a great time fishing and hanging out with everyone! Can't wait for the next one!

Was a fun little morning sesh! Ended up with 4 fish for the morning with the best in the 3+ pound class.

Decided to visit Otay this morning. Got on the water about 615, immediately worked my way to the tules and began flipping the edges with no sinker rig plastics and quickly broke the skunk. Didn’t see any busters out there in the part of the lake I was fishing but I suspect the frog will get bit down there.
